Edge ...what a great company

Both trans and diff sensor wires are the same length so the rear diff does not reach, I have an extended cable on the way. The real problem is that the trans temp is being read on the rear diff guage in the truck. The wires come marked from the factory saying Trans and rear diff. I have the trans connected to the trans. Did they just mis mark the wires from the factory? Both wires are inserted in the connector from the factory and it only attaches one way to the guage so its idiot proof. The easy fix to me is to just switch the lines but I just want to make sure there are no other possibilities before I just switch them.

I hate when that happens...

If you are 100% sure that the harnesses are miss marked, Transmission Temperature indicating Differential Temperature and vise versa, swapping the harnesses will have no effect on the gauge. The only reason that it would affect the gauge is if you were using a different temperature sensor/probe with each. Even then, you would only have to change the settings in the gauge menu.

However, instead of going to the trouble of swapping harnesses you can simply swap the pins at the gauge connection (Plug). In your SPA manual, you will see that they have included a wiring diagram for the connector. Using a jeweler’s screwdriver you can release the pins from the connector and swap them accordingly.

A lot less work and your harnesses will then be identified properly.

Thanks for the reply BigDaddy, I wasnt going to mess with the connectors at the plug as that is factory set also. I was planning on just plugging the probe end of the diff cable to the trans and trans to the diff. To my knowledge the are the same probe so I shouldnt need to make any guage setting changes.

I'd be fine with pulling the factory tape off the cable that mark trans/diff and switching them LOL. As long as everything is the same.

You should be fine going the route you mentioned.

If you have any other questions or if you run into a problem feel free to send me a PM. You can always give Patrick or Dave a call at SPA too (317) 271-7941 ;)
