Old or new motor mounts?

01 Superduty to 12 valve

Found another problem. The belt only goes aroung the alternator 1/4 turn so when I turn on say the headlights and the radio and blower motor the belt start squealing. I think I may be ablr to put an idler between the AC and the alternator.

Also if any body is doing grinding, welding or painting around your project. You need to cover the entire truck. I have over spray all over the truck and some of the windows have small burns from ether the grinder of welder. I should have known better. I went to a place that made fire trucks and he had all the windows covered in paper. I asked and he said it was to protect them from the grinding and welding. He said he learned the hard way.

JonT,

Dakota Digital has a kit to connect the gasser tach to the Alternator for about $65 plus shipping. Suppose to work with 4 and 8 cly gas tachs and once connected up gives the person ability to calibrate the signal while comparing to a handheld tach. Hope this info helps.

DAKnapp, thats great. my kids keep asking me why that gauge isn't working. My son is 13 and helped me set the timing on my pump after having to remove it to fix the lifter cover leak I had. I need to do a couple more things and get it dynod. Thanks for the info.

I added an idler between them also. By playing a little before final welding I was able to keep the stock belt size. Figured it would be easier to get if ever broken down in the middle of nowhere than some odd sized one.

My tach is also hooked up like yours and reads perfectly accurate. Just find a 6. 5 diesel cluster and youre set.

NYCEGUY01, I always buy two belts and keep one in the back of the truck just for that reason. I need to get rid of the tensioner, I don't trust it.

I think it would be easier getting the electronics from Dokota digital than trying to find a diesel cluster and maybe cheaper to.
