GM Oil Change Algorithm Question

I have not had to deal with this for the last 40 years. The daughter is in Minot North Dakota and looking for a good all season tire recommendation. She drives a 2002 Ford Escort ZX2 front wheel drive. The car presently has BF Goodrich 185/65R15 on factory aluminum rims and the tires are approaching the wear bars. Any recommendations for tire replacements ?.

When I'm not sure about a car tire the first place I look is Tirerack.com. A lot of info is available along with customer opinions.

Yeah, I will have to look some more there. Looked for installer there and Tirerack came up with 0 results. Did not think that was possible but true

When I was back there for a spell, I had really good luck with Harry's Tire Service. Family owned & operated in Minot for 60 some odd years.

I didn't buy tires, just had them do some mounting, balancing, and tire repairs. Was happy with the service.

She live up there or just working ? I'm toying with the idea of going up there for work.

She is staying with her boyfriend, he is stationed there and she is working at the local hospital. This will be her first winter as an adult. When I went to Vermont and worked for Ben and Jerry's she was 10. She did not have to drive and played outside all day. Things change when your 22 and have to live there. We will see how she makes out, from 110 to -20,30,40 who knows.

Whoa, climate shock for sure.......

Tell her to switch to hard stuff, it won't freeze if left in the car like beer does......and don't stick your tongue on anything cold.....

That's my cold weather survival tip for the day.....

Real hard to drive when your running alongside the car with your tongue glued to the window :-laf. I grew up in PA. so I was use to cold weather but I remember when I was stationed at Loring AFB changing a generator on a B52 I stuck the wrench between my lips  while taking some mounting bolts out. Had to wait for the van to come by so I could lean in by the heater and thaw my lips to remove the wrench :-laf. That was the last time I did that.

They saw you? You poor bas...d. How many months before the ribbing stopped? :D

You're welcome. They IIRC are a dealer for Hankook, and the Hankook iPike winter tires are amazing. It's a rather dry cold up there and the ground gets pretty tacky so sometimes the ice is sticky enough to not need much more than a good quality all season.

They are the commercial tire dealer in town.....next door to the Schatz Crossroads truck stop on 20th Ave.

That is good to know about the ice. Last real winter place I spent time was up in Mike's country (Maine). Lucky the world is round, once you started sliding up there it seemed like a forever thing.
