Hey fellow 12v'ers. I need a little help with starting my 97 12V. I have it in the Ford now and was trying to start it today. I have all the wires hooked correctly for the fuel selenoid, I used the "plunger" to prime the fuel line, the filter does have fuel to it, gushes out the tube when I pull the drain lever. She just turns over but will not fire. Do I need to bleed all the injector lines, since it was completely out of the truck?

Is there something I am missing?

Tried to to a search but could not find any info I neeeded.

thanks

IT'S ALIVE!! Oo. Oo.

I just went and primed the plunger some more and she took off. It runs a little rough, but it runs! :D

Now I have to get the seat in it and get the slave cylinder purged so I can drive it. Oo.

I'd say the computer is close to the shop or the truck is in the living room eather way at least help is'nt far off let us know how the swap comes out!

Actually the truck is closer to the living room, than the computer :-laf Gotta love the attached oversize (850sf) 2 car garage.

It is still running really rough. It idles really well but she is blowing white smoke and about mid throttle it falls on its face and just dies. Could it be a bad injector or two. The engine as not been run for at least a year, probably longer.

Any ideas  maybe the timing is off. I also added the #10 plate full forward and the 3K GSK before I even put the engine in the truck. I also adjusted the valves before I put the engine in the truck, so maybe some of my "adjustments" screwed things up. I think I might just take it to Cummins Northwest and let them figure it out once I get everything back together.

chek what you messed with first

did you take the pump off to mod it?

if so double cheak the timing if you have the tooling

no offence but the valves arent to tight are they?

roll it around and cheak it quick

I would try to do it my self if I could

after that I would spin on a new fuel filter full of "sea foam" avalible at auto zone, napa ect get 4 cans and let it idel on it you will smell the diffrence it should clean every thing up fast (I use two cans every filter chang). keep me posted
