Okay guys here's one I need help with quick. This morning my truck started and ran for about 2 seconds and then quit. Now when I turn the key it won't do anything but there seems to be a huge drain on the battery when the key is in the position that should engage the starter. I ckecked the battery and it is fine. Electrics are my major weak area so sure could use some help.

Check your starter and cables running down to it. Sounds like your starter is shorting out or is locked into the fly wheel. Also make sure that the solnoid hot wire is not shorted either. See if you can manually turn the motor over using a breaker bar on the crank shaft. Try turning the motor backwards first, if the starter is locked into the flywheel it might get it to release. If that releases the starter REMOVE the starter first and bench test it as well as check the flywheel for damage like missing teeth. Be carefull NOT to over torque the crankshaft bolt, don't force it.
