having issues, how to post pics???

I have a picture of my new rig and would like to add it to my profile or at least get it in the readers rigs

im computer stupid

I can email it to someone if they can help me

but I never have been able to get pictures in a small enough file size to get on the TDR

Download this program - http://www.irfanview.com/ . It will let you resize your picture and change the quality setting, etc. If you resize a picture down to 800x600 and save it as a .jpg file with the quality set at 50% it will fit in your readers rigs section easily. In order for a picture to be able to fit in the readers rigs section the file size has to be under 122,800 bytes. If you resize it down to 400x300 or so with the quality set at 50% you will be able to upload it direct to a post. If you need help with setting up your readers rigs album you can find those instructions here - https://www.turbodieselregister.com/faq/index.php?act=Answer&cid=41&id=30 .

sorry

this download this and download that is just not my bag of chips

im gonna need someone to physically do it for me

Noone else will be able to get it into your readers rigs section or profile unless you provide them with your username and password which I would not recommend. The best way to learn is to do it and the instructions really aren't that hard. Why not give it a try and if you get stuck somewhere post it on here and I'll walk you through whatever you are stuck on.

I got it!!!!!

woo hoo

thanks steve

I think I even learned something

but still gotta figure out how to resize pictures

I tried to download the program but computer locked up

(pretty standard for me)

See, I knew you could do it! As to resizing pictures do you have a photo program like Adobe Photoshop or Ulead Photo explorer, etc? Most likely one came with your digital camera. If so try pulling down the edit menu or one of the others and look for a resize option. Then when you save the picture pull down the file menu to "save as" and save it as a .jpg image and you'll see an option there for the quality of the picture - usually a 1-10 scale and set it to 5. At 5 it will make the image a lot smaller and you won't notice much if any degradation of the picture.
