I may soon be the owner of a 92 w250. Standard cab, nv4500 conversion, 4wd, 96 seat, 250k. It needs some front end, wiring and body work, but other then that its solid enough. I know a lot about my '01 such as the mandatory fuel psi guage and all the basic upgrades but I need to know what the basic upgrades should be for a 92. Any help would be appreciated.

Dowel Pin for sure (just like the latter 12V engines). A fuel pressure gauge isnt a bad idea, even if the engine is stock and you intend to keep it that way. IT's a must if you intend to BOMB it any.

Steering boxes arent the strongest or best design.

Bypass the RWAL for good braking. Master cylinder may or may not need replacing. Get a NEW (not reman) one if you have to get one at all.

Other than that, all the regular used vehicle stuff applies.

Borgeson steering shaft... a little pricey, but well worth it to get rid of that BS stock steering coupler. The Borgeson shaft also makes removing and installing the steering gear a lot easier.
