Hello, and thank you in advance for any information that you can provide. I am getting ready to purchase a 3500 HO/48RE. The way I have built the truck w/options retails for $ 36,750 with an invoice of $ 32,757. For the people that have bought or ordered a truck recently, how has the bargaining with the dealer gone and do they still apply the $ 2000 rebate if they sell the truck at invoice. I am willing to go to any dealer so long as they put it in writing if I have to travel. Thank you for your input.

Richard:)

Richard,

The rebate is what ever at the time you take delivery, Not at time of order. You might find a desperate dealer some where that would do it at time of order, but don't hold your breath you'll pass out. Any way yes they will sell at invoice or a little under and then honor the rebates. I ordered mine in january at invoice price, then was $1000 rebate took delivery of mine last week and got the $2000 rebate. For a total of $2000 under invoice. I did make the dealer note that rebates where in addtion to agreed price. I think thats how most of the guys here are doing it also. Also try around you might find the truck you want is stock some where and get the current rebates.

Good luck

Tim

Best Prices on New Dodge

Look on page 2 for best prices in Texas. . I bought mine, or ordered it 2/4/2003 for $250 under invoice and less $2500 in rebates. Supposed to be here next week.

Hi Richard,

Bargaining depends on the dealer. Some will and some won't. I think those who won't would rather starve than get something or their head is someplace other than on their shoulders... as they haven't checked the ecomomy lately.

I would also think it would depend on where you live, how far would travel, therefore cost of transportation... You wouldn't want to get a truck at $500 under invoice and then pay $500 to get it and get back home... When a closer dealer would sell it for $200 under invoice.

Some good dealers: (btw, I am not affiliated with any dealer and try to post 2 or 3 and then you can choose. But as an extremely happy customer, I prefer Richard Singleton at Brent Brown Dodge).

Brent Brown Dodge in Provo Utah http://www.brent.fivestardealers.com

Quality Dodge in Tooele, Utah http://www.qualitydodgeonline.com

Both are at $500 under invoice and you keep the rebates.

Mark Roberts in Bartlesville, OK, is at $316 under invoice. http://www.markroberts.com/

We ordered our '03 from Brent Brown and it has been a wonderful experience. I asked Richard what their best price was, I had been looking around and he said $500 under. That was in Mid Dec and we ordered in mid Jan.

Dropped by again today as Richard was told it would arrive yesterday or today. He found out it is sitting on a truck and should be delivered tomorrow.

Spent an hour jawing with two other salesmen about dealerships, very slow sales, etc. . They said some dealers will just not deal. I asked about Richard and they said he is one of a kind, extremely honest and hard working.

In addition to the factory options I am also getting several dealer options at great prices... . Example: The 4" Stainless Steel exhaust by Hog Performance sells at BigExhaust.com for $625 plus shipping, Brent Brown is selling the same system for less. I am also having them install a Turbo Liner, spray in hot bed liner, Gauges, Nerf Bars, Bushwacker fender flairs, rear wheel well liners, Cummins Exhaust Brake and clear bra on hood, rockers & door edges. This is one competitive dealership and very nice people.

If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me.

Every dealer I visited (6 in all) told me that I would be guaranteed whatever rebates were in effect on the day I ordered, regardless of whether they were decreased or eliminated on the day I pick up. In addition, they all told me that if the rebate should increase on the day I pick up, I would get the increased rate.

Since each of these dealers told me the same thing without prompting, I expected that all dealers have the same policy.

Try Fleet manager

I've ordered 2 vehicles ('99 Durango and '03 Ram) from my local dealer for $99 over invoice. Absolutely no hassle and other than waiting for them to be built, painless.

Right now it looks like you can get an even better deal. Arm yourself with the list of options you want and the costs, and head to the dealer. I ordered from the Fleet Sales mgr, not a regular sales person. A truck sitting on a dealer's lot costs them money. If you don't mind waiting, order what you want. At worst you'll wait a couple weeks, but you'll get it exactly the way you like. Hope this helps.

Thank you!

Thanks for all the replies so far, I live in Miami, Fl and the dealers are a pain in the a$$ to deal with some times. Hence the reason for my post so I can compare what dealers are offering me here to what i can get else where. Btw, a trip to Utah would not be so bad, the way I see it I can stop by DD on the way home and get some goodies:D . I going to start to deal with the stealers down here to see what I can get. Thanx again for all the input!

I get so much off this site I owe it to you guys to do all I can and I will. I have family in SW Miami, maybe we could work a deal and I'll deliver it to you there.

Just ordered one

I just ordered one from Helfman Dodge in Houston, Texas for $450 below invoice less an additional $2,000 rebate and $300 'On The Job' incentive.

I called Dodge Rebate Program Headquarters at 800-227-0757 and was told that the rebate is "sold ordered protected".

My dealer confirmed this means the rebate could not be reduced from what it was the day I ordered the truck.

I ordered it on 02/17 and the build date is today (03/05).

It should be here in a couple of weeks. I can hardly wait!

Don't give up on your local dealer. If the fleet guy knows you are an internet shopper, he may be willing to work with you. I ordered mine for about $100 under invoice from Lithia Dodge, Renton WA, without going to the dealer until we picked up the truck. We got a total of $2500 in rebates, including the Farm Bureau $500 and another $2000. The deal was whatever rebates are in effect at time of order, or at delivery; whichever was the lower price. $1000 down on the Visa to place the order. David Ogle was easy to deal with. Just don't get hooked up with the sales staff on the lot, use some self control and be willing to WAIT for the truck you order, and know exactly what you want. If you buy off the lot they need to recover some flooring costs for buying a truck in spec, instead of for a known buyer. You also get what YOU want, not what the dealer thinks you ought to want. My only trouble with Lithia was a had to tell David about 3 times I really did not want the heated leather seats.

Can't say enough

I have to admit, joining the TDR was one of the best things I could have done as a CTD owner. I have saved a countless amount of money just in the archives with problems and now in the purchase of a new truck. Part of the reason for this post from the start was because the local dealer down here would not guaranty the rebates if I ordered the truck. But, I had remembered a post not to long ago about members being able to order a truck and the dealer honoring the rebates even if the truck had to be ordered. Just trying to compare and get the best price, even If I have to pick it up in another state..... this way I can take a mini vacation! :D :D :D

Thanks to TDR and this particular thread, my profile is just about to change. Called around to some of the dealers which have been mentioned here and came up with a deal today. $500 under invoice, all rebates locked in and will finalize tomorrow. 2003 HO, 48RE, 4x4, etc. Referred to this forum while making the deal. Thanks guys. :D

TDR pays for itself again

I would like to thank all those who replied so far in my quest to obtain the best price I could on a 3G ram. I talked to George Sellers (dodgesales) yesterday. He gave me the invoice on the truck as well as honoring all the current rebates. I would like to thank George again for his help. :)

Ok, you "sales(wo)men" out there..

here's some questions:

1. when I build the truck (3500/srw/lb/4dr/4x2) on the DC web site, it removes the SO or HO when I select Almond (or any of the last 3 colors) - WHY? (DC color probs? or web site probs?)

2. when will the cut be for a 03 order and when will a 04 be avail to order? (this is a major question to some of us who are still "recouping" from a loss or "teeth-ering" on the edge.

3. hows bout some zip codes so we can search your inventory (but we realize that you HAVE 2B a 5****** dealer) for this to happen... .

4. what "incentives" will you offer if we have to travel to you for a p/u of the unit? (now - dont get into a fighting war just to win us to you - this is a general question. . expecting answer(s) such as " will talk about accommodations", "will provide trans from airport" etc - just to give us an idea/ reference that you are WILLING to talk about it - or just say "sorry - but no can do anything" The fine details can be worked with thru e-mails

5. had more questions, but SM set in.....

Da Diesel-less SOTSU!! (will ride agn - soon ; we hope!)

\\BF//

6. just called the rebate line, and whats this fleet/retiree rebate option (they closed already so have to remember to call them next week) Also, saw a rebate for the Jeep line for military person(s) - can/is this be avail for other models?

7. any "gud" prices on demo's (now or possibly in the nex few months - what in your state consists of a "used" unit - I think in NM it may be up to the dealer but I usually see them at about 10K+ on the used side)

8. DUH!! me SM agn

PS: found some "used" 03's here - demo's?
