I am looking for details on the tach that was availible over the counter from Dodge that plugs into the plug supplied on 91-93 Rams. Was the diesel one (if there was gas and diesel versions) a 4k RPM unit, how big was it, was there colour choices etc. Thanks.

Yep 4k. Here's pic from Nascar Marks RR's album. Looks like its next to a 2 3/4", then two 2 1/16" on the pillar. I would guess its a 3" tach.

Anyone know of a place where those tachs are still available? I know Dodge doesn't make them anymore, but maybe some dealership somewhere has a few left in stock?

They pop up on ebay every now and then. There was one a few months back that was NOS in the box. Don't remember the exact amount but it went for lots of $$$

Exactly, thats why an aftermarket Isspro or Autometer tach is that much better, IMO, even looks better than the oem. One could get an aftermarket tach and one to two gauges for what I've seen the nos oem tachs go for:rolleyes:. I pass.

Clay, short answer to that question - no, they did not have an in dash tach.

If anyone finds a tach, I have the instructions for installing if you need them. Got them with mine last year. I was able to find a new one that another member had. Word is there are no more tachs to be had from the dealer but you never know what is out there someplace on a shelf in the rear of the shop collecting dust!

Well, since the factory ones are sold out, I think I will go aftermarket. Does anyone know where to get a tach that matches Autometers Phantom series? I am looking for a 4 to 5" tach with around 4K rpm. Anyone?
