I am wondering if ther is positive or negative diference in fuel mileage with the 70h. p. upgade that the cummins shop can install . 96 2500 4x4

What upgrade are you talikng about? I get nervous when people mention shops and upgrade in HP #'s? Anyway MPG should remain pretty much the same, if you keep your right foot out of it that is. Please tell us what/who's mod your looking into.

Glen, Thanks for your reply. The upgrade I,m looking into involves setting the fuel pump up to deliver more fuel to engine. My question is: will this use unecessary fuel for rolling down the road.

RHanson, I highly doubt you will have any worse fuel economy than you have now. I raised my horsepower 220 more than it was stock and my fuel economy is the same or better by 1/2 mpg. than when it was new. ( thanks in part to my larger than stock air filter)

Garry.

I also have increased my HP by 230 HP and my mileage has not changed from when its stock. As long as you drive the way you did before, your mileage should stay the same or even be better. Do your self a big favor and call Piers before spending money at the Cummins shop. Piers is a great guy and wont tell you wrong and has as much knowledge as anybody around.

I'm curious about waht shop and how much they want to charge you. Are you handy with tools at all? Kits are pretty cheap and easy to install. You might consider doing it yourself first. (or at a local BOMBing party?)
