Hello all,

I'd like to get your inputs on several questions, namely:

A. What is the max EGT I should run my engine at for sustained periods on the highway while towing?

B. What is the max very-short duration EGT for my engine while towing?

C. What do you consider the best shocks for my truck, considering approx 90% of my driving is around-town, and 10% is towing the toyhauler mentioned below (9K lbs fully-loaded)?

D. Have you drilled/tapped your top ball joints for grease fittings? If so, how well did that work and do you have any advice for doing so?

E. Do you have any experience in using the "airtabs" offered in the Geno's catalog? If yes, what, if any, fuel mileage/stability gains did you realize?

Thanks!

Hello,

- A) 1200 - 1250 deg

- B) they say for very short periods of time (a few seconds) you can get away with higher temps, like 1500 deg, but that scares teh cr*p out of me!

- C) Bilsteins seem to be a crowd favorite. There are better shocks for offroading if you want to spend cubic dollars! Rancho adjustables RS9000X's are the choice for heavy loads, esp. slide ins.

- D) Sorry, haven't done it. I'll probably wait until they wear out and replace them with a Moog or TRW part that allready has the nipple.

- E) Can't say I've tried 'em, but I'm a skeptic. I'm aware of the aerodynamic theory, but am unconvinced they'd make much of a difference. Of course, someone will chime in to set me straight!

Hope this helps

Dave
