Here's my dilema, I'm trying to locate a set of seat belts for my99 2500 4WD CC LB w/ black leather interior. The dealers in my town (Denver) have located one black seat belt unit for the right side only. The left side belt unit (with retractor assy) has to be ordered from Detroit, scheduled to arrive next Wednesday. Does anybody have any resources, ideas on how I might get the belt sooner? Here's the part numbers:

Left side: 5FP65LAZAB

Right side: 5FP64LAZAB

Ideally, the belt(s) would be either dk gray or black.

If someone does have an idea on how to get these to me before next Wednesday please email me at -- email address removed -- or leave some sort of contact information in this thread for this forum.

Just out of curiousity... has anyone else heard that once the integrated seatbelt retracts too far the entire unit is ruined and can't be repaired? This just seems ridiculous to me!

Thanks!!

Seat belt situation infuriating but fixed!

Here's an update on the supposedly 'ruined' integrated seat belt retractors from my previous post.

It turns out that in order for the integrated seatbelt retractor mechanism to work once they've been retracted completely, the seats need to be remounted in the truck, adjusted, with the electrical connections made to the seat belt retractors AND have both doors closed(!) BEFORE the retractor will be released!

The guy that did the upholstery work for me, John, who did an BEAUTIFUL job BTW, only found this information out through the dealer AFTER he had been told by the SAME DEALER:mad: that BOTH retractor mechanisms would have to be REPLACED! When he ordered the replacement parts ($260 bucks for the set!) - at NO COST to me - he found the new retractors wouldn't release either! At this point he had to literally yell :-{}sat the service desk people to put an actual technician on the phone. Last week the dealer wouldn't allow John to speak with any of their technicians and instead was told he would have to replace both units. I apologize for repeating myself... can you tell I'm  ?

I don't know if this will be allowed on this forum , but I'll post it and see what happens. The dealer that John dealt with, known

to be rife with consumer complaints against them, is Christopher Dodge in Golden, CO. I will NEVER do business with them.

If you're in the Denver area and looking for a true craftsman to reupholster your truck or other vehicle talk to John at Colorado Seat Treat. He's in the white pages or you can contact me for more information.

What he did for my truck was to remove the leather seating surfaces and replace them with a very high quality automotive cloth, high thread count, durable, Scotch-Guarded, UV-resistant, etc. He also replaced the broken down foam in the seat, added additional foam to the seat back in the lumbar area and replaced the trashed seat 'basket' supporting the seat foam with high-tensile strength webbing. The stitching is as good as comes from the factory and the leather/cloth combo looks very classy.

John did all of this for less than HALF :D the cost of replacement seats ! :--)

Hope y'all find this helpful.
