After the ordeal with my old truck transmission 04. 5 laramie 3500 dually 48RE and the repetitive trips to the dealer for repairs ( which never fixed the transmission, see post for deposit on 05 g56 48RE junk in mine) I have traded in my truck and will battle with chrysler later. I have purchased a 05 dually 3500 QC G56 laramie. I never want to go back to this dealer so I need a competent / Qualified local ( or at least within reason) dealer to get my truck repaired should I ever need service ( which I hope never happens). I can do all maintenance just need a dealer for warrantee that wont bust my B***s if truck has MODS. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pick up new truck this afternoon.

JC, like I said before in your other thread, I bought from Foss Motors in Exeter NH and they have an excellent machanic "Bruce" a bald headed guy. When I have had to go back there for warranty work or "Dealer" only work, Bruce likes to take you back in the service area and point out what is wrong or have YOU point out what is wrong when the truck is up on the lift. He will also take you out on a road trip to help diagnose what the problem is or listen for the "noise" you hear or "shimmy" you feel.

Bruce is a super-master diesel machanic with the Cummins and the Nissan diesel (they are also a UD truck dealer). Bruce also owns Cummins trucks so he is like us, a customer as well as a top notch machanic.

Foss has also had many customer come in with their Cummins trucks with full Banks setup ... and they work on them. I was there one time and this nice lifted 2500 came in for minor work with the full Banks treatment and I don't remember Foss giving him a hard time.

I don't like Bonneville Dodge in Manchester or the Dodge dealer in Derry NH (can't remember their name), but a lot of shifty character in those places.

Just my 2 cents.

And good luck with the new truck ... keep us posted on it.

I'm just wait'n for a 5500 Cab-chassie 6-speed with a 12' dump flatbed option, so hopfully the new G56 is a good transmission.

Hey JC,

your new truck is very nice. I stoped over at Great Road today at lunch to see what they had in trucks. I say your new Black truck there. Stu the sales guy was working on the small paint scratch on the top of the driver's side door frame. He popped the hood for me so I could check out the engine compartment. I have never seen a 3rd generation up close before ... . amazing how clean looking the engine and components are compared to the competetors.

You have a sweeeeeet ride there ... take good care of it. I asked Stu when the 5500's were coming out and he laughed and said he wished he knew. I told him to tell you that FATCAT was by to check out your new truck.

Best of luck with it ... and no more automatic trannys for you.

Thanks FATCAT. I cant wait to pick it up. Stu is a great guy I've Known him for years, he used to sell cars from a small dealer that was in front of where I had my garage. As far as I'm concerned the dealer itself is not where I'm going to return and if it wasn't for Stu I wouldn't have bought the replacement there, (Except it's the only one on the east coast) but I knew Stu would at least take care of the details. I will check out the dealer you recommended. Thanks for the feedback. I wouldn't have taken my old truck back there either but thats was Chyslers decision ( Chrysler knew I wasn't happy with Great Road, Maybe because of the problems Great Road created is why factory wanted it to return to them.
