Hi I just recently went to a truck pull and did really bad, which is odd because I did pretty good last year. But what i'm getting at, is I slide my #10 plate back because my egts would reach 1400-1500 degrees when I had it slide ahead. I have it slide back so it only reaches 1250 degrees now, but when i was going down the track at the truck pull I just flat out ran out of power. What do I do I can't let these powerjokes and duracraps beat me anymore?

Water/Meth is a perfect solution for you... . on a run I did today that would normally see a pryo reading of 1300-1350*F... then running only the primary jet on my system I could only reach 1000-1050*F no matter how long I held it... . in OD too... .

Do some checking into this option... either that or twins is another choice.

It all depends on how much $ you have to spend, first thing is the transmission as I see you have an Auto but no one is listed in your sig, Water/Meth is a good addition, it works and it's cheap but I like allot of air also... ... ... . How about working in both of the above and add some injectors, 370's, honed ones or EDM's.

It's all in your wallet!

Brett do you have anyone in lower altitudes running a Phat 66 on a 12V?

You're worried about EGTs??

JK, sorry if this comes off wrong, but sled pulling is often called truck destruction roulette. You never know if you are going to twist a driveshaft, shatter a U-joint, snap a yoke, or hop so bad you do all the above at once.

And you are worried about a few seconds of being over 1400 degrees?? If you want to compete in sled pulling, then you just need to go for it. It's all a big gamble anyway.

A few seconds of over 1400* is probably [almost certainly] a lot less risky than hooking up to the sled in the first place!!

Other than the above comments by me, you need more air, or more RPM. or both.

I dont' even let out on the clutch untill my EGT's are at least 1000 deg. It won't hurt the truck for that short time. Slide it forward and put it to the floor.
