Competition Need more power Barely beat an 8.1 AV

So I'm mindin my own bussiness waitin for the light to change and the Guy in the AV next to me is reving his engine. He takes off tires smokin as soon a sthe light changes. I did what any self respecting Ram owner would do and buried the throttle. Caught him very fast and slowly pulled a truck length on him as headed for the merge. Really had to stay on it much longer than I wanted being on the street and all. He did give me the thumbs up when we got back to a two lane and he passed me at normal speeds. Saw the 2500 badges and Z71 lettering etc. Anyway I really need to get some injectors to be able to get er done quicker. Problem is I realized that I never once looked at any of my gauges so If I go too big it could be

Once you get enough mods to feel a bit worried, you'll start to glance at the gauges. It became a habit for me when the possible outcome is a $6k-$8k engine replacement!

... and something don't jive on that truck, Z71 is a half-ton optional suspension only, either he added 2500 badges to his half-ton or added stickers to his 2500...

As long as you took him at the end, it's ALL GOOD!!

Maybe it was the 1/2 ton. with the smaller engine My eyes suck and I can't tell a z71 from a z66 etc. After all he was in my blind spot almost the whole time :-laf Either way I need mo power

Mo power is a definite, doesn't matter if it's stock or a 8 second drag truck/rail!

I know exactly what you mean, my truck runs great, pulls my trailer great, gets 17-18 mpg still but I am in the hunt for more...

With the fuel mods that you have made I was wondering how come you didnt do anything air related? AFE? swap out turbo ect, that little chebby shoulda been chokin on your tailpipe. :-laf

My sig doesn't show it but I have an AFE intake. Need bigger sticks and a turbo and I'll be set. Had a little hiccup at work soI'll probably put it off a little longer

Chevrolet makes a 3/4 ton Avalanche- they are basically like the 1500 hd's

1500hd or 2500 standard. you can get the 8. 1, but not the Allison. We just got a 2005 Chevy 2500HD 8. 1 with the Allison, sweet towing truck but I'm glad I'm not paying for gas!
