I'm getting ready to buy some nerf bars. I've seen lots for Reg cab but I've too many for a 97 3500 Club Cab. I don't won't to pay over $300 if I can help it. Anyone that's bought them for a club cab what have you liked? Others that have been satisfied with their brand purchase chime in. The full length fender to fender cost too much.

I've read that the Oval have more step space then the round but I have not found too many oval ones and they usually cost more. Stainless verses Black Powder Coated? I don't live in the rust belt so it's not likely they will rust. I kinda prefer the looks of the Black ones on my Red dually. Mounting? Not much is revealed about how they mount on the ones I've seen.

Thanks in advance for the insight and help. I'm confused on what to look for.

Oh... . pics would be great if you have them.

Thanks,

Dave

Nerf Bars

I put a set of WESTIN bars on my 2500, they were just over 300. 00 but were stainless. The main mount is to the cab mounting bracket with a satabilizer at each end to the box member under the doors. Very simple and no drill. They are available shiny or black in stainless. They were a little heavier in stainless the carbon steel ones. Never had a bit of trouble out of them. They replaced chrome one that rusted out at 5 years.

Bought them from Summit Racing - - Find them on the WEB - - they are putting out some good prices right now.

I put Westin (black ones) on my Mule. Don't rember what I paid for them but I think aound $300 or so with installation. I had them put on in 2001.

I tried searching summit racing but for my truck all I get is 2 expensive Putco brands between $750-$1165... . too much.

Go into Westin on Summit site. Pretty sure the '97 and '98 are the same Some body will log on here. I had purchased a set for my 97 and ended up putting them on a '99

Westin Signature Series Step Bars

Give your truck or SUV that custom look.

Westin's Signature series step bars are made from 3 in. diameter steel tubing. Instead of cutting a hole for the step pad, Westin recessed the tubing where the pad sits to prevent corrosion. The bars are designed for your specific vehicle, and bolt to your truck's frame without drilling. Available in your choice of chrome plated or black powdercoated finishes, these bars are available for most late model trucks and SUVs.
