Need new chip

Let me start by saying I live in CA, so a programmer of any kind is out. I currently run an Edge J/A, with the hot programming. I am now looking at a new set of injectors, as I now have white smoke under load. Looking for something that makes power with out adding rail pressure. Is TST still the best fro that application? I tow 14k frequently so usable power is a must. Thanks in advance for all of the help.

First, let me say that we do not use “chips”. The Cummins use Programmers and Flash Tuners.



As for wanting additional power, throwing injectors into the power equation may not help your towing without adding a performance turbo.



As I understand it, the “Juice with Attitude” is one nice box and I would think it alone would be maximizing your EGTs @ 14k lbs. behind you.



How much additional horsepower do you desire?



Will your budget support a turbo too?



These are two critical questions to answer before you go any further.

Smarty is a nice way to go. Is your transmission stock? be careful if it is

Big Daddy, as you can see in my signature I already have an upgraded turbo, and the juice with attitude for my year uses primarily rail pressure to make power. I have now cracked injectors 2 times with this unit. It is no longer an option. I am currently looking into a set of DDP 50 hp injectors. But need a timing and duration only box to fool the computer.

p-Bar, I live in California, A unit that re-flashes my ecm is NOT an option.

I smogged my truck with the Smarty in the system all the smoggers computer is looking for is the rediness system which are the smog features and being able to read them.

Don't worry about the smarty,it is invisble once removed. However your Turbo will not pass a visual .

My turbo looks close enough to stock, I hope. But I still have my stock unit, just in case.

I'm sure if it was a dual turbo setup it would be obvious. Just make it look old. Bob 4x4 I passed smog with Smarty installed. The computer is only looking at the readiness system.

Smarty also allows you to run sw0 which will give you no smoke no matter what. Being in CA Smarty is a no brainer to me.
