2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Power Steering Issue

Hi,
After 10 years, the old headlights just ain't what they used to be.
I put in new bulbs, but my mechanic tells me that the adjusters are rusted solid and we notice that the lights are yellowish and dim.

I bought a lens polishing kit, and it did a nice job, but I think I should put in some new ones.
Other than go to the dealer, is there any suggestions that you think would be better? (quality, etc)
I don't believe Geno's sells these, last I looked.

Thanks,
Robert

I think most of that thread involves new bulbs into factory lenses.

It's a pretty confusing thread IMO, but that's what I got from it.

Various HID combinations into new factory lenses.

Thanks,

Robert

For your '99 3500 there's only one really good answer. Put in a set of aftermarket Sport Headlights. These use a 9004 and a 9007 bulb on each side, and with a relay kit you can burn all 4 high beam filaments (2 on each side) or all 4 low beam filaments at the same time.

I did this conversion on my '96 3500, and it is about the best money I've spent on the truck. Here's my Dodge Ram Sport Headlight Conversion writeup on this. I used the SUVLights relay conversion harness, the URL for that is in my writeup.

Are there any replacement "off road only" headlight bulbs available that have a normal low beam, and a "flame throwing" high beam?

I bought one for my Harley a few years back. Man-o-man, that high beam lit-up the world!

MY friend gave me a set of the HID replacement bulbs that fit into the factory housing. I know there are many articles about the legalities. improper beam focus etc etc etc. The bulbs I got have the HID and a halogen. With the lights on low (halogen) the beam is not as focused but the lighting and didtance seems very close to the factory bulb and not one person has flashed me due to the lights dazzling them. When put on hi and the HID's come on WOW!!! its like daylight outside. The newer roadsigns that the reflective paint has not worn off yet almost blind you back

kenny61,

Do you know the name or part# for those bulbs. I would love to try a pair of those.

I would like better lighting for these dark country roads here in WI, but I don't want to go the new everything route.

TIA, Ray

The ones I got were given to me by a friend. I dont know too much about them. You can google 9004 HID hi lo and get some results. I did a quick search and it looks like this company has them Hid Kit, Hid Conversion Kit, Lights, Hid Headlights, Light - XenonEyes.com I suggest you go with a hi lo set up otherwise they will be too brite. The web site above has a moneyback satisfaction 30 day warranty.

I have never done any business with the web site so I am not recomending them

I bought my HID kit on e-bay, you hook direct to battery with relays and only use factory switch to activate relay. No high amps go through factory switch. Have had HID's for years now. Never use my brights anymore!
