New 08 Arctic Fox 5er

I'm in the market for a new turbo to replace the stock turbo, and would appreciate all the input from you guy's I can get.

I can't afford the twins, so don't even go there. We bought a new 5th wheel and I will be towing a bit heavy.

Thanks in advance!

I posted this in another forum and only got a few replies, so I thought I might get a few more opinions from you guys in this forum.

I bought a turbo when I first got on TDR thinking I would go to much higher hp. I did not go to higher hp because it was too much egt for towing. I dealt with the too big turbo (KSB1-B) for several years trying to keep the thing spooled by O/D out, downshifting etc, also changed to 4. 10 gears.

Finally I got close to 100k and wanted to have the turbo rebuilt. High Tech Turbo in Utah took my turbo and rebuilt it to a HTB2 which works perfectly.

I would call HTT and tell them what you tow (weight, high profile, etc), the terrain you tow (flats, hilly, mountainous), how fast you want to tow (mph), what your mods are and they can match a turbo to your needs.

I am totally pleased with the results. No barking, stays spooled, can pull hills easilly because the spool is right there, just totally pleased.

I tow an ALFA Ideal '04 high profile 5er, about 13k

EDIT-----

FOR TOWING: I have confirmed that changing to the better matched turbo yielded me + 1. 5 mpg. Cruise (60 mph) egt dropped by 200*(950* to 750*), WOT egt dropped by 150* (1100* to 950*)

Industrial Injection PS62 or SPS62. The PS62 will spool almost as quick as stock, but will keep your egt's lower. The SPS62 will be a little laggy on the low end but nothing you cannot overcome by driving behavior.

I see you have an 03, change out your cast elbow behind your turbo, to one from a 04. 5 or newer, it will be the same size all the way through, and help alot with spool up.

There are quite a few good single turbos being offered by different manufactures, I am just telling you what worked for me. :)

Oh, I see you have a pacbrake, your elbow is already absent, did you go with a 4" downpipe when you installed the brake?

Now I'm a bit confused. I called HTT to day and they suggestedthe 62/13ss, until I told them I have an exhaust brake, and he said it would not fit. I would have to go to the 62/12 instead. But "MMeier" said his 62/14 fits right up?
