(1)Did the intercooler drop you EGTs after the install, verses the OEM intercooler. (2)Did anyone see a power increase, after the install of the after market inter cooler. (3) Has anyone measured the pressure drop across the OEM intercooler, and did the after market intercooler decrease the pressure drop. (4)Does anyone have a recommendation of which intercooler to get.

I went with a Haisley 100 psi Intercooler when my stock unit developed several small leaks and 1 good sized leak. Had heard poor results from trying to fix leaks so...

Can't answer your measurement questions... but it's a quality unit. Well made. It brought me back to where I was... 52 psi boost, and did seem to build boost faster than stock unit had before leaks... . just an SOP feeling.

The Piers unit was not on the market at that time so I can't speak to comparisons.

Hey

Merv, we came across a company that has them pressure tested at 500 psi and reasonably priced to. They do drop egts a bit but we never did a pressure check across. If this can be of help let me know.

Merv, the first PDR cooler I tested and still have is a little different than the current one, current one will be better, but on mine as you may remember I did a write up on the board. Air temp drop at the hat is 60-70 degrees but I always say 60 to be safe, no I didn't dyno before and after but I have read that the stock cooler is an 8 psi drop across at 60+ boost levels, this one is 1 psi at 30, 2 at 40 and 4 at 60, it made as much difference at the hat in air temp drop as the water injection did using the stock cooler. There cheap enough that it's foolish not to buy one over a stocker and yes I think they are well worth it, Piers doesn't pressure them to 500 psi as there is no need but does test them to 125-150 then heats them up to simulate the hot air going into them.

Jim, were you able to see any egt drop? Or was there more then just the intercooler changed :D

Are the PDR intercoolers for sale yet?

Skyler

BTW, Jim, I don't know if you remember me asking you about twins a while back, but I finally got em from Piers last week. I went with a PDR HX35/14, with an external wastegate, and an HT3B. 5 on the bottom. The head's ported/polished now, and the should be done getting o-ringed soon. I'd like to swap out the intercooler and cam next.

Skyler, will you be able to see what kind of difference the head makes? How many mods are going on at the same time or are you gonna do this in stages? I'd like to know how much difference the head work makes, so many opinions about the benefits of port/polish on an engine boosting 50# or more. Sounds like your truck is gonna ROCK when you get done, love to hear some numbers when it's back together.
