I am sure this REALLY sounds stupid but I was wondering if anyone out there has had the unfortunate opportunity to have to take pics of what happened when the KDP came out. Like a real good front view of the gears and casing and so on.

Now I will explain why. There is a second year student up at school who is working on a 97 12v 5 spd. Now he pulled the motor due to the fact that no. 6 is scarred and possibly burnt out. So today when he was in his "DISASSEMBLE" I told him to come find me when he got the timing cover off and I would show him where the dowel pin was and how to fix it one way or the other. He then informed me that the KDP is just a 'myth' and that it only happened to a extreme view trucks. And went on to ignore me, so I figure that I would show him just what can happen if it comes out, and that the 5 min. fix since he has the WHOLE damn engine out could save him.

TIA

Russell

P. S. Just paste em on here or PM them to me My printer will print in picture quality

I wanted to but I left all of my issues at my dad's house back in KC last weekend and forgot to bring them home with me. So I really need some pics on here.

Here's another of my truck

It took a chunk out of the gear case. I thought the constant oil leak was from the blow-by tube. Wrong. Apparently it was broken for a long time as the lower portion of the break was pounded smooth and the upper was still rough.

Like yourself, I'm always willing to give what ever advise or help I can to help someone out. Don't mean to sound like a jerk but when someone shoots down my advise or ignores me I let em make their own mistakes and walk away :D .

I must say it's awfully nice of you to educate someone who's this unwilling to listen. Hopefully they take your advise, especially if the case is already coming off.
