I recommend a black tool box. Mine looked nice for about 3 weeks. Now its stained badly from the soot. I got a deep box to hide the plumbing in the bed. #ad

Specially when you do a lot of this. #ad

I'd say the stacks are to short for you. I don't have that problem on my truck.

Pics in RR.

I have a 6. 5" box, I slid mine back, but had to cut the corners out of the tool box for the wheel wells

sorry, I dont have a pic how I did the tool box, but basicly cut out a 6" x 6" x 8" chunk out, flipped it over, so it is inverted, and taped it with black duct tape until I cn have my buddy weld it back together.

Look in the readers rig area at M-D TDC Member RabidRam's truck as he has stacks and a toolbox also... ... ... Andy

bmoeller: My stacks were higher when I first installed them, just didnt look right to me, especially with the cowl induction hood. So I ended up making them shorter to get it to look right. You and Forrest have nice looking rides  If mine didnt look funky they would be taller, just depends on the truck I guess. Seems the number of trucks with stacks is really takin off around here, usually one a month seems to pop up. As far as the sooty tool box goes, if I was to actually wash it now and again and not be so lazy it would look lots better Im sure :-laf , I did recently try a mild all purpose wheel cleaner and it helped out a lot. I guess Ill hit it with the buffer when spring rolls around.

Forrest: Off topic, but nice pics of twins going together in RR section, brought back memories. Neat wastegate setup! Im lovin mine, my dad just finished up his as well.

that's the first time anyone's ever said my truck was "nice looking"! LOL! you should see it up close... there's a reason I call it my beater... but it's what I could afford, and I'm happy w/ it.

I hear you on the tall stacks not looking right... from some angles, great, from others, not so great...

I ended up putting a pair of curved top stacks on it a couple weeks ago facing back... it looks better from more angles now... not "perfect", but from a functional standpoint of sound, exhaust fumes, etc. , they're about as good as it gets for me...

thanks for the compliments on the twins... sadly, they've been collecting dust for months now... but I don't use the truck for work anymore, and I'm looking for a little econobox to use as a daily driver so that I can get crackin' on that stuff!!!

I've seen a couple of stacked 2nd gens and 2 1st gen trucks around home on occassion. The dually had them outside the box like Merrick has on his. Had a shell on the box.

I don't get mine washed enough either. I'm glad the camera isn't that great, 'cause it was filthy when the pics were taken.

 Its clean now. :)

The recent little snow storm we had gave me a perfect way to show how the soot lands on a calm day. :-laf #ad
