Has anyone used a full A-pillar guage mount with tweeter from guageworks? If so how about the triple mount?
How's the fit?
Are the three guages in their locations a problem with blocked vision?
Thanks for the help.

I just received one of the triple gauge units but w/o tweeter, to replace one I fabricated previously. The directions have you fasten it to the OEM Pillar cover, running your harness and hose(s) between the pod and the pillar cover. Looks like the fit will be fairly simple. I have had my gauges there for a while, visibility is not a problem but watch the brightness of the gauge bulbs-at night you can get some annoying reflections off the side window. You may want to dim them with paint or provide a separate dimmer control. Hope this helps.

I have a three gauge A piller mount from Diesel Injection, Texas. Forget who made it. Like DieselDoghouse, mine fits over the stock cover. You are supposed to drill holes in through both covers and push in these plastic plugs to secure the cover. I felt that with my Isspro's, the whole thing would fall off so put some screws in the stock cover first. Being tall, I have my seat slid back all the way. From that position, the guages line up with the piller and do not limit the view. The top guage was initially a little bit awkward to view but in time, I got used to it. Get paint from the dealer to match up your interior.

Although many places sell it, I was under the impression that there was only one manufacturer of the pillar pod. Comes in one color = black.

I have the 3 pod with tweeter and it is nothing less than wonderful! Had to carve the factory post where the tweeter was so the new one fit, but that also made a nice hole to route the wires thru.

Ordered mine from Scheid Diesel in Ill (ads in TDR) and they will paint it factory match for you if you want! Ask for Andy.

I also thought it would be distracting but was used to it in one day and now just love glancing to the left and seeing the numbers! Old truck had them mounted below the dash #ad

Check the archives and search for info on this subject. Someone had posted a photo of the 3 pod with tweeter.

Good luck

I got mine from Diesel injection services in Lubbock. It does obstruct your view depending on your position. With the seat back as far as it will go and your head centered the gauges stick out about an inch. With the seat midway and closer there's no obstruction unless you are leaning left. I got used to mine pretty quick. The original pillar cover comes off by pulling it directly toward you when in the driving position. There are 3 clips and two positioning pins. You will need to do considerable cutting so the new cover will fit over it. The tweeter hole and other humps will have to be removed. Be careful when cutting not to cut into the spring clips aand locating pins. When you get where if fits good you drill four holes and attach the new cover to the old with the plastic grips provided. The gauge holes need to be enlarged a little bit so the gauges can be snug fit. You can install and connect the top two gauges and then install the unit but you need to pull the wires for the tweeter and the bottom gauge thru the holes and install the gauge after the pillar mount is in place. It is a tight fit to get the pillar mount down between the dash, by leaving the bottom holes open you can see the locating pin and bottom clip. Be sure to get these in position first and then the middle and top clips are easy. I painted mine with paint from the dealer ($8. 00) and matched perfectly. I hope this helps. Tom

If you need further access, you can actually roll the entire dashboard assembly away from the windshield. The dash pivets on bolts at the lower corners just above the kick panels. This involves dropping the steering wheel down, etc. I would suggest you follow the directions in the factory manual to do this rather than just tear into it. Would not want to blow the airbag(s).

I did this when I mounted both the A piller and dash mount guage moduals. The dash will rub the bottom of the guage mount when you push it back but the scratches won't be visible. If you get into running a lot of wires, etc. , you will have somewhat better access than just trying to reach under the dash.

When looking at Geno's cataloge, the A-pillar pods looked liked they replaced the original. Are you guys saying that you had to mount the new cover over the top of the original? I thought that it snaped on with the clips like the one you take off. Has anyone ordered the new one from Geno's?

I got a 2-pod with tweeter from Geno's and I also thought it would be a replacement but it is not, slips over the stock one, with some trimming of the stock hole for tweeter
It took forever to get it from Geno's (I seem to have got the run around on shipping. ) I belive that they are ALL made by gauge works (Autometer)
all in all a good product.

My truck is a first gen John, but I can send you a picture if you wish, to see what the pillar mount looks like installed. It just spots in position over the pillar trim peice and is held on with barbed platic pins. The one that I have is a 2 holer (max for first gen) made by autometer. It not hard to install and fit very well with only a slight amount of trimming. Mine came from BD.
If you would like a picture email me at link in the signature line.

I bought the 2 gauge A-Pillar from Geno's and it installed just fine. I painted it the stock gray color with a can of spray paint I bought from my dealer. I mounted it just above the tweeter. It does kinda' block left turn views, but if I hit another vehicle, they better be bigger than me #ad

I purchased a Gaugeworks triple w/tweeter from Dirtcheap diesel. Its a replacement for the factory pillar. Just snap the old one out and fit the new one in. I have had a new trick audio system installed with the new JL XR series tweeter installed. I am getting ready to install the 3 gauges. With it being in the truck for two weeks know I can see it will be very nice when finished.

Thanks Griff996, you have the answer I'm looking for, it is a direct snap in replacement. Now I can order the Boost, Pyro, and fuel pressure gauges to mount in the triple with tweeter.
Thanks to all for the replies.
