I am loking for an OBD2 scan tool that will read and erase trouble codes on dodge, ford, and chevy diesels that is updatable and not too expensive. Just looking for an educated opinion
Now are you trying to do this professionally or just looking for any scan tool that will work? There are lots of different options depending on what you are trying to do with the scan tool.
INNOVA CanOBD2 is relatively cheap and since it can handle the new Can bus, it should work on some of the new stuff coming out. It also has the PC/internet update feature.
I'd second what Les said, Innova model 3110, I got mine new on ebay for 125. 00 mostly you see them for 175. 00 new. From the look of picture on princessauto that appears to be an Innova 3110.
I've got alex peper's software for my laptop, cheap and works well. If I was using it daily though lugging the laptop around would get cumbersome. The handheld units are probably more suited for you.
