On the way home from diner tonight, this little princess (Blond by bottle on the cell phone in a Mercedes SL500 convertible looks like she just got her license today) was driving down the center of the berlin turnpike try to hold me up. She was weaving back and forth as I tried to pass. I was able to stick my nose in and pass. As I was moving by her, my wife said “make her hair stink, dump some smoke like those guys you show me from tdr”. I told her we needed accessories to do that. So my wife, cindy, suggested I find out how from all of you how to create that nice smoke.

I have gauges (installing next month), I have read some of the posts here and read Ted Jannettys suggestions but still not sure about a couple of items.

I’m not looking for ‘big power’ just a little more kick and some smoke would be nice. I’m a stock ’02 quad cab, 4x4, 3. 54 right now, I pull a 7500 gross travel trailer a couple times a year with no complaints on power or braking. Other then wanting an exhaust brake later on I planned on stay relative stock (add necessary trannie mods). So until I can afford a TC/VB or full trannie what mods can I add to ‘get smoke’ and hold the auto together until early spring? Or should I do the trannie first? Should I do a full trannie or will a TC/VB work in my intended use.

I would suggest either bigger injectors or a variable box like the PE Comp, not both. You might be able to get by without having to upgrade your Auto.

p. s. The comp can be programed when to add fuel. At level 5 (the second parameter), it will dump it in at low rpm and at low boost, it should smoke goodly!

The order of mods should go like this. Gages First and foremost before anything else.

Next would be your choice of order

transmission upgrade. Get it out of the way now so you don't have to worry later.

A set of 275 injectors or equivalent or an EZ box.

With a EZ-Comp you would have more flexibility in that you could leave it turned off except when you need it. But with this, you need to be very prudent in how you drive. With this mod you have the ability to control your smoke to as much or as little as you want.

From my personal experience, the combination of 275's and the Comp that I have, there is pretty much nothing that I can't keep up with or pass at will if I want too.

Enjoy. And if your wife is encouraging you to make smoke, you better buy her allot of roses or something. Have fun.

What RADdodge said!!! With the comp you can make smoke at will. Add III's and look out, like magic, you can make everyone and everything disappear.
