Heres the story. I was in a pretty bad accident 13K in damage, trucks been in the shop for the last 6 weeks. R&R the front clip, rad, intercooler, trans cooler,A/C con, fan, pulleys. . etc Just about everything bolted on the front end of the truck...

I went to pick up the truck yesterday and took it for a "test" drive. Top speed 20-25mph,no boost,no power, no go... Check for codes none come up. Climb under the truck. . Find one of the intercooler boots(turbo side) is torn:mad:

The body shop orders two new ones and installs them this morning. I get the call to come pick up the truck "its done"... I give it the once over and fire her up... Runs smooth,no leaks. Pull out for the second road test, still very little power, more then the first time but nothing like before the accident.

100 yards maybe 35 mph:mad: 19-21 psi of boost:mad: stuck in second:mad:

Truck will shift when I lift off the throttle then slows almost to a stop from lack of power... ... .

U turn back to shop:mad: Take the shop owner(diesel owner) for a test ride. He agrees with me that the truck is messed up... They are at a loss and make some phone calls, keep asking me what I want to do:eek: Um fix my truck for starters..... Well the best they can do is have it towed to the Dodge dealer on Monday morning and have them look at it.....

I understand that body shops are just that, but come on no one even took the damm truck for a test drive... . The work they did do, paint & body is top notch and looks great, they have been nothing but nice and very helpful up to this point. This is not a small mom and pop shop, they are very large and are a preferred shop per the ins co.

My insurance rep is in the loop and is going to follow up on it Monday... .

Above and beyond the shop issues does anyone have any idea whats going on with the truck? The dealer its going to is a big one but I've never been there for any service work... Just really at a loss tonight. . Accident,6 weeks no truck, then its repaired and "looks" great but wont go 25 mph!!!!!

Can any one shed some light on this for me. .

Thanks in advance,

Adam

From my experience, I would not bring a problem like this to the dealer unless they have a trained diesel tech that I trusted. If I were in your shoes, I'd go to a Cummins shop, or better yet if someone can recommend the one great diesel shop that everyone on here seems to recommend that'd be best.

We had a body shop that just let piles of dust go everywhere. they very seldom taped off any important openings. I hope this is not part of your problem.

Never had to deal with any kind of diesel shop and no one around here can recommend one,I've always done everything myself but this is way above my skill level...

The shop and the insurance co are at a loss about what to do with the truck. . Thats why they just want to tow it to the dealer and have them look at it.

I'm getting #@$%! by the minute...
