I bought one of the last set of high positive offset wheel from Centerline. I kinda wanted black powdercoat but the wheels were chrome only. I CAN send them back south of me to Anaheim Ca. to a business that will have them chrome stripped and black powdercoated for me but the TOTAL costs with shipping both ways is close to $500. Here are the wheels link: http://centerlinewheels.com/wheels_detail.php?mw_id=125&sw_id=1089

Here is a picture of my truck. I need some opinions from you guys. I'm STUCK!!!

FUNNY... After posting the picture of my truck and nothing else blacked out, it might look funny having blacked out wheels

I have a set of Teflon coated wheels that are black 17 x 8 that would look good on that truck. Yes Teflon. They are American Racing ATX Series. Comes with lugs, McGard locks and center caps.

I think it looks good the way it sits. I really like those wheels. Kind of hard to justify the cost, unless you REALLY
want them that way.

Personally, with how I use my truck, powder coating the wheels is not cost effective. With my aggressive off - highway driving the rims get rock chips and sand blasted. Rattle can paint is under $10 a year vs. paying to have them restriped and repowdered.

For some applications it is fine and looks great. Just consider what abuse you put your wheels through.

I had a set of forged stockers powdercoated kind of a dark gunmetal grey and grew tired of the color. I swapped them with a guy who wanted that look for his forged ones.
I'd just mount them and take it from there.

couple of ways to go about this.
1) put 'em on as is run 'em for awhile see if you like 'em chrome or if it grows on you. total cost 0.00
2) put 'em on the way they are run 'em for awhile, if you don't like 'em or want to "try black. take a picture and photoshop the wheels black. total cost photoshop if you don't have it or some other program. total cost 0.00 (for a freebie program) > 100.00 for photoshop.
3) put 'em on as is and paint 'em black. run 'em for awhile and see if/how bad the paint gets chipped up/destroyed. If the paint hangs in there good chance powder coat will. total cost 25-35.00 for rattle can paint. then get'em power coated
4) ship 'em, strip 'em, coat' em, mount 'em. NO turning back. If you don't like the look tough! total cost. 500.00 for the powder coat + the cost of the wheels that a) you don't like anymore and b) you can't get anymore.

Nice looking truck, but I'm not a fan of chrome. You're asking for opinions- I'd do the rims black, LineX both bumpers and nerf bars black and put a black grille on it. Truck would look sweet!

I'd guess.. for what a chrome plating show pays for copper and chrome... they drop your wheels in the tank and pull off the chrome for free if you weren't in a hurry..... they can remove it.. just as easy as they apply it... once its removed than all you need to do is powder coat them yourself... its an easy task... simple paint gun.. powder is simple to buy and all you need is a surplus oven the wheels will fit into....

I bought an old range $20 that had no top elements but the oven worked... simple gun was under $100 and the powder is not expensive.... 20 min at 375* does most items...

Seeing that I have the identical truck to yours, I vote to leave it alone. Looks great the way it does. I think the Inferno begs for chrome.

Well, I did the math and read you guys pros and cons. I decided, after looking at the picture of my truck that I posted in my first thread, to go ahead and have them mounted just as they are. The Nitto Dura Grapplers sure fill in the wheel wells. My main thing on chrome is the up-keep. Fortunately we live in a dry, salt air free area. I may just paint the hub on the rear axle as I can't find a nice center cap I like. Thanks for the interest guys.

Clean machine Chris! Maybe just some Thuren 2" coils now?

Chris, those look NICE...and just so you can know that you made the right decision, I just found a link on CF with a pic of a truck very much like yours (though lifted and NOT as nice IMO) with new black wheels, so you can see for yourself what you are NOT missing--

Thanks seafish... I hate to say it but that truck looks good because other things are blacked out too. The truck pictured looks like for a young guy in his 20's-30's. I'm 61 and I think my decision more fits me. I like Clean, Simple, Un-cluttered and Functional. I had another post about hub centric rings or not. I AM going to have a custom set made up to make sure the wheels mount "Round". I went to a nice tire shop to get the Nitto's mounted BUT.... I saw the tire guy not being real careful when he was installing the wheel to the truck. They ALL grab the IMPACT gun and WHAM-WHAM-WHAM!

I'd be all over the guy using an impact on my wheels. First of all I do as much of wheel and tire work as possible, secondly wheels must be torqued, an impact will run them down to about 250lbs where as correct torque is about 95 -135 depending on wheel and vehicle. I know its qiucker with the impact gun but its not correct. I don't even use an impact when removing the wheels. I personelly like the dark, stealthy look, but everybody has there opinion. I will say this black is harder to keep clean than chrome. Ask me how I know.

Or you can just plastidip if you want to change the look of your wheels. Much easier to do, touch up and can be removed easily anytime you want.

Your truck looks nice to me the way it is. My son uses Plasti-Dip on wheels and it does a decent job of both changing the appearance, and protecting the wheels. It doesn't last forever, but its cheap, looks nice and its removable. So if you change your mind down the road, it peels off with no ill effects. On his own car, the wheels are done in a dark gray and it looks pretty sweet. Just another option.
