There has been a lot of talk about the 03 trucks having a neutral rattle which we have come to find out that it is the clutch springs in the clutch disc that is causing the problem. I have seen that some of you have said that there is a TSB and replacement disc that the dealers are using to fix the problem. The gentleman that I am trying to help out said his dealer is oblivious to the problem and knows of no fix, pretty much telling the guy that it is the nature of the truck and to live with it. I found the #'s that were posted of the replacement disc. Is there a dealer (name and phone #) that someone has used that has fixed the problem under warranty that I could pass along to this gentleman. Maybe he could have his dealer call the other dealer to enlighten them.

Thanks for any help.

Peter

Hey Peter,

We must have been posting and the same time. Check my post, I think a lot of people will respond. It looks like some people are actually getting them fixed, that is why I started my thread.

Good luck,

JSoden

I was at the dealer the other day about the cruise control recall and mentioned the rattle. The tech said he new of the problem and order me a new clutch. he mentioned something about a memo on it ???? I didn't mention anything about a TSB btw. I guess it just depends on the dealer you take it to and how knowledgeable the techs/service guys are. I don't have any part numbers available or the TSB # but I had seen a post with that info a while back.

Peter:

Fenton Motors of Stillwater Okla. changed the disc in mine. Their phone number is 405-377-7766.

I saw the disc that was replaced, and the springs showed signs of a chatter mark. This makes me think that they are rubbing against something, not just loose. Can this be?

I believe the TSB # is 06-001-03 I had mine replced a few weeks ago and had no problems with the dealer. The dealers # is 317-839-6554 hope this helps.
