I KNOW A LADY WITH A 2007 RAM WITH THE CUMMINS.

I told her to cool the turbo down after driveing it.

she asked the srevice guy at dodge he told her thats BS just a mith

you never need to cool down a turbo. i have the all the big service manuals

and if you read thru them thay tell you to cool it down let it idle a drive.

they think you drive these trucks like a gasser. please give your input

and i will have her read this post thanks

My truck is not with me at the moment but iirc my 01 owners manual states right in it what to do. So might be worth her/your time to look at her owners manual.

we COOL our turbo I think it's just a good habit to get in to.

but her friend BEV was telling me the 07 oners manual does not tell you to idle the truck to cool the turbo down??

If its a 6. 7 then I believe it is cooled with coolant. With that I don't think you have to idle to let it cool. Someone correct me if I'm wrong... Jeff

My '02 manual has a section on shutdown -- Idle the engine a few minutes before routine shutdown. There's even a chart for different driving & load conditions.

I have a pyrometer gauge. Only once while hauling our slide in camper did I need
to let it cool down. If you have a heavy load, get the gauges. Syn oil doesn't
hurt either.

THIS LADY PULLS A CAMPER ALL OVER HELL AND BACK.

BUT HER KNOW IT ALL FRIEND BEV IS TELLING HER THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. THEY SELL COOL DOWN TIMERS AT GENO'S .

LOOK IT ONLY TAKES 2 OR 3 MIN TO COOL ONE DOWN I WISH I COULD TAKE A LOOK AT A 07 MANUAL I KNOW IT'S IN THERE.

MAN YOU TRY TO HELP SOME PEOPLE AND THEY JUST DON'T GET IT.

THANKS

PS i'LL KEEP COOLING MY TURBO AND USE A GOOD SYN OIL AS WELL

Why try to convince her? You told her some decent advice and she would rather dispute it and shut her truck off just like a gasser. So let her and don't worry about it. Eventually she may have a ruined turbo. But she'll prolly trade the truck off before she experiences a turbo failure from hot shut downs.

What's her friend "bev's" angle? Is she a turbocharger expert?

Yes your rite. I just hate a loudmouth old lady that every other word is mf plus she is a know it all. And it's not even her truck.

The lady that owns the truck is a vary nice lady

her friend is just a dumb ***

what are you going to do

it is what it is

thanks
