I need a little help here because I have no idea what the difference in Offset, backspace and stuff mean with wheels

I’m going to buy a set of A/R DEJ Chrome Cannon Wheels in 8 on 6. 5 20x10

I’m not sure of the specific size to order??

Some say -0 offset or -20 offset, and others say 4. 5 backspace and 5. 0 backspace

I think these are my choices: Will either of them work?

20x10 0 5 8-6 1/2

20x10 -25 4 1/2 8-6 1/2

The suspension is either going to be a Kore or a Lorenz which say I can run 35’s

The tires are BFG LT325/60R20

Please Help... ...

Better not go with a 4. 5 backspace, as you will most likely get rubbing on the fenders. If you're going to run 35's with just a leveling kit or 2-3" lift, you need to stay close the stock backspacing of around 6. 1" or so.

Actually, I think people have generally found that a backspacing of around the 5. 7" range offers good comprimise of keeping the tire from rubbing control arms on the inside, and fender/bumper on the outer side. In terms of offset, a 5. 7" backspacing is around +18 offset, and a 4. 5" backspacing would be about -12 offset.

Look at this link, and play around with it a while to see how backspacing/offset/wheel width/etc effect each other.

aftermarket wheels - 1000RIMS

I believe Hummer wheels offer a BS of around 5. 7". Eagle 114's, Weld Cheyenne, and XD Hoss by KMC are a few others that come to mind.

Hope this helps, Eric

I think you are going to have problems with rubbing.

The issue in this case is the 10 inch wide wheel. Even with offset and the correct backspacing, your wheel will stick out much further because of the 10 inch width. The stock wheel is about 8 inches wide and has a 6. 25 inch backspace. A 10 inch wheel with a 4. 5 or 5 inch backspace will stick out about 2 inches further than stock. Even with a mild lift, your 35's will rub. In fact, there's a good chance you can rub with 33's and that combo.

If you really want a 20, there are some new ones that are a little narrower and should work.

Dang, I was sure hoping that combo would work... I don't want to raise the truck to much and the Kore and such seemed to be the perfect height I was looking for... I'll look and see what the 18's are in width...

Thank you very much for the info!

Keep in mind, it's not the height of the wheel, it is the width.

Walker Evans is going to be launching a 20 x 8. 5 at the end of the month. It will work with a KORE system.

Another question. Are we talking rub on the front bumper, or on the back of the outside wheel well, or both? If it's just on the bumber then I dont mind trimming off an inch or two. The control arms should be fine, right?
