Need some help

So I am driving uphill today... I gave it some gas to swerve around some idiot and I hear a loud bang... . ok I slow down... . my truck revs over redline and I notice its running funny. Next stoplight I come to I take off and my truck now seems to hang real high in every gear... whether you give it a little gas or alot it stays in each gear well over redline... then if you let off the gas it eventually shifts..... doesn't downshift real well... . either.



Just wondering if anyone has an idea what it might be... Its going to the dealers... but I had some bad experiences in the past there... and i would like to be better educated when I get the call from them... and I must confess trannys are a mystery to me..... I am assuming thats the problem.



No check engine codes or lights flashing..... but something is up I am sure.



any help or ideas is appreciated.

Do you still have the plastic intercooler? If so, maybe it blew on you.

Yes I do still have the plastic cooler... but I seem to be getting boost ok... . it was reading pretty normal when I drove it to the dealership... I noticed the problem seems to be worse in 2nd gear... it goes up to 3500 or more RPM and doesnt shift till it hits over 33mph... . then if you give it gas to downshift or pass it downshifts but almost immediately redlines like there is no power... . but I am sure i was getting boost... my gauge seemed to work fine.



If they can't find a transmission problem I'll tell them to check the plastic intercooler...



any other ideas?
