2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Need Some info... very quick please

I have a couple questions i need answered quickly. If someone could help me out i'd appreciate it very much.



1. On 2001 trucks, does the SLT package guarantee that it will have power windows and locks?



2. Was it possible to get power locks without keyless entry on 01's.



3. If question 2 is yes, can factory keyless entry be added to a truck that has power locks? Is it costly?



4. Do 2001's with the towing mirrors have the wiring run for the power mirrors? Would swapping to standard power mirrors be as simple as bolting on a set and plugging in the wiring harness?

I think the SLT does come with power windows and locks. I have power locks on my 01 slt and I do believe keyless entry was an option that was only like 50. 00 extra (if keyless entry means you have a button to unlock the doors and that 50 was at time of order no idea how much to add afterwards). I was not going to get it but the wife, shall we say suggested we get it and it has been a nice feature). The wiring harness for the mirrors is there but you will also need the power mirror control knob in addition to the mirrors.

No,you could order it with or without. Although most owners would not have them unchecked when they place a truck order I have seen some without.

Again,yes,depending on what you didn't have checked off when you ordered it and it may have cost extra to have that option removed off the package.

Its actually cheaper to do a aftermarket one at this point if you figure out it didn't have any of the power lock options installed by the factory.

Yes and No,It could be either way Chris. I have seen some of the non-power mirror trucks at my buddies salvage yard which had the wiring in place and seen some that didn't. It depended on what you wanted when you placed the order and if Ma Mopar had one already built to close to your specs when you placed your order. Say you walk in,drop your cash down and order a truck which you didn't want power/heated mirrors. If they had one at the plant which was a "dealer stock" truck which had them,al they would do is remove them and place the other mirrors in place instead,thus leaving the harness. I have seen the same with the power seat option. The only way to tell for sure is to partially remove the door panel and look to see if its there or not.



Heck,I have even seen a 02 Dually that was leather loaded recently a friend bought to resell which was carpet delete and had a rubber mat instead of carpet. When I questioned it he told me anything is capable of being deleted out of a package if you do not desire it,it only costs money,LOL.



If you end up needing a set of the factory power/heated mirrors let me know Chris I have a set laying here I took off my 98 years ago when I installed my 01 tow mirrors. Hope I answered your questions... ... ... Andy
