I have a 2006 QCLB with a auto trans that I bought new to me 2 years ago with only 30k miles on it. I have a 29ft 5th wheel that it tows just fine. This year I am going to be towing a enclosed cargo trailer that I am not sure how much it will weigh a lot. It will contain at least 1 or 2 UTV's and all equipment needed to put on a tractor pull. I am thinking about a smarty jr for fuel econ and a small power gain unless some one has a better sugestion. Also Amsoil or Royal Purple for trans and axles? And is the Banks cat back queter than say MBRP or any others? I have a stright thru donaldson mufler on it now but it produces a drone and my tail pipe is rotted out. (I live in NY salt) Any sugestions or opinions would be apreciated.

If you do decide to go with a Smarty just go with the S06 PoD and don't turn it up as high. Couple extra $$$ with more options/tuning, get the UDC dongle also.

Trans, So long as it's +4 auto fluid it'll be fine. Already have synthetic in the differentials, just service them and put a larger cap. cover on for more fluid (synthetic) capacity.

Exhaust, 4" with some type of muffler/resonator (I run the ANSA now) any truck that tows will resonate more to some extent than when empty. My experience is 4" not as bad as 5". No muffler forget about it. Stainless.

my 0. 02 others feel free to chime in.

I wouldn't put any programmer on a stock trans as you will shorten the lifespan. They are the weak link of the drivetrain. How heavy is your 5'er ?

A tuner can be put on a truck with a stock trans so long as a little discretion is used with your right foot.

I have 159k miles on my '04. 5 (sig truck) stock trans and Jr.

It's all a matter of using common sense. A stock trans will break without a tuner if you treat the throttle like a toggle switch.
