I am going to DTT at the end of this month to get my trans BEEFED up. I'm going all the way with the trans, 89%convertor, VB, Trans update kit, billett input shaft. I am in an indecision as to go with the DDII's or just some 275's. Bill wants whatever injectors installed before he does the trans so he can set it up right.

I am only going to run an Edge EZ and some injectors of some kind. I want to be able to tow with the mods and not burn up anything. Guages are ordered and on the way(S. P. A. )

I don't want to loose fuel mileage or be a smoke screen...

HEY,I WANT IT ALL!!!!!;)

I want to have a good, LONG RUNNING rig. I go by what you guys say (usually). I'm having some real indecision right now!!

Thanks, Chris

Depending upon how much you tow you will probably want to stick with the DDII's with your EZ. Now if you go to a multi-level box that can be turned off you can go higher and just tow with the box turned off or way down. With DDIII's and the EZ and your little 9cm^2 housing you will be needing a turbo upgrade to keep her cool. So all in all I would say you could do II's and just be light with the right foot or get a box that can be shut off or turned way down. Just my $. 02 Dshawhan

I do plan on getting rid of the hy35 and finding a hx 35. Do the DDIIs smoke very much? I also figured on un-hooking the EDGE EZ when I tow and just have the injectors to help up the hills.

The II's will smoke at low boost but it isn't bad. If you want a stock HX-35 go to the classifieds they are everywhere.

I need a clutch worse than a turbo or I'd make you a deal on mine now. Go with the II's you won't be sorry.

Chris, get the 2's, and think about 3's. Leave the EZ hooked up when towing, it will lower EGT by 50-150* over what a boost module will drop it depending on the situation. 2's will smoke if you nail it off boost, a good sized puff but only a puff. The DTT convertor is going to accentuate the smoke, but it is still not bad at all. It will increase a little bit with the HX but still not bad at all. High altitude and/or high temps make the smoke worse too.

In any case you can easily control the smoke with your right foot and you will learn how to do it within a day or two, it becomes habit.

I would, seriously, run the 2's and the HY for a while. Run it hard, tow hard with it. If you do that I think you are going to find that there are VERY few situations where you lift because of EGT's. Between the DTT transmission and the power you are going to have it is going to go anywhere dragging anything as fast or faster than you want to go.

DD2's are gonna be a LOT of fun.

Holler if you have any questions.

After about a month of having the DD TTPM and the DD-II's I have not had ANY condition that REQUIRED full throttle, and that included pulling my TT that has a combined weight of 16. 5k lbs. (truck/trailer). This is an AWSOME combination. The mileage remained about the same, driving as I did before the upgrade. You stomp it and naturally the mileage goes down. The EGT's have been totally under control, even with stock exhaust and the stock HX-35 turbo. I still am curious what will happen (to EGT) this summer when the ambient temps reach triple digits here in the southwest. The next step needs to be an exhaust brake to get the beast slowed down!!

Thanks TDR Guys

Well I took all of your advice and ordered some DDII's. A few of you suggested to go all the way and buy the DDIII's.

I REALLY appreciate this site and the people! :)

I am also on a MBZ site and alot of them are a bunch of :{WEENNIES!!

Its not like I got it all figured out

Thanks again and I will try to get some pics of Bill K and some of his race cars and of the rebuild when I go on the 28th of this month.

It's a 1200 mi. drive one way :( , but I will be :D :D all the way home. Chris

EASY ON THE RIGHT FOOT PEDAL CHRIS!!!

You'd better get your EGT hooked up/installed too. Cause I know you will be feeding it the coals with your Edge on Max. On your way up to DTT remember to drive cautiousely through Oregon and Washington. No such thing as "a out of state warning" Your California license plate will stick out like a free meal ticket to these two states patrols who are down on income revenues.

As soon as you get here, I've got a dozen wrenches for you to turn for me.

Ican't hardly wait to get my gauges hooked up too. Don't forget to bring them too. Oo. Looking forward to the visit Bro. :D :D :D Jim
