I have an older Lund style bug deflector that I took off my 2001 QC. I gave it to my buddy who has a 2000 but for the life of us we can't figure out how it is mounted. It's just been too long since I took it off.

Anybody got any pictures they can share of how this bad boy mounts? I have included a picture below so you can see what it looked like when I first got the truck before removing the deflector.

Mine appears similar, Lund, and mounts with a heavy duty type velcro, velcro pieces are glued to the hood and fenders. This way you can remove if/as necessary. And it takes some pulling to get the velcro to release. Came with the truck when I bought it used, back in 2001. The eyebrow pieces mount the same way.

Should be able to get more Velcro from Lund or a Lund dealer.

I have the same bugshield... . they have little brackets that bolt through the grill or some have the clips that go through the grill. I will check it out tonight & let you know for sure, but I remember little mounting tabs through the grill.

I just checked my bugshield... . sorry it isn't a Lund. I have a Cylas industries bugshield... . it has screws going through from the back of the grill through metal clips on bugshield.

My 1997 factory shields were bolted the underside of the grille molding. They pulled the lights out to do the eyebrows.

Well, I have completely struck out. I even contacted Lund and they said that they no longer have the instructions for that specific model.

I think it mounted somehow between the gray part of the grill the the chrome but I cannot remember for the life of me. The buddy I gave it too and I have tried staring at that thing for hours on end and we just can't figure it out.

Part of it could be his truck I guess. Mine was a 2001 and his is a 2000 that had been wrecked and repaired. Maybe the repaired grill wasn't assembled the same way as mine or something. That's why I wanted to get a picture of somebody elses that is installed.

Huskerman,

The pics you provided look exactly like what I had on my 97, and I know that the dealer screwed the middle portion on to the underside of the top portion of the grille lip (did that make sense?). I seem to remember that they had to take the grille off to mount it. You might want to call your friendly neighborhood stealership; they should have mounting instructions for their OEM accessory deflector. Stay away from Peterson's in Boise proper; go to the one in Nampa, Peterson's Stampede... those guys are great. Larry Miller Sundance Dodge is good too. The Peterson's in Boise is a bunch of jerks. Unless you want to wait until May 5th for me to come in to Boise (the wife and I are coming to visit her parents), I can't help you any more than that. Good Luck.
