P0216, P1688, P0253 on 2000 Dodge ram 2500 115,000 miles. Truck died at a stop light will not start. Towed. At home now in my garage.

Blue chip diesel wants $1850. 00 but that includes a new computer with the larger heat sink and the latest VP44 upgrades etc.

Rocky Mountain Cummins quoted $2100. 00 plus $700. 00 core and no computer. (I bet they don't sell many) Oo.

Thoroughbred Diesel wants $994. 00 but that may or may not include a computer. They use the old one if it tests out ok.

I live in Phoenix, so the idea of the bigger heat sink seems like a great idea and I am not planning on getting rid of the truck anytime soon.

Please let me know of other good sources out there.

Thanks

Hi,. I have an Industrial Injection Hot Rod pump I removed from my truck with less than 20,000 miles. I ran the pump with the Airdog 150 gph pump. Fuel pressure steady at 14-15 psi. Truck ran great with the pump. E-mail me at -- email address removed -- if interested. Sam

I've read good things about Blue Chip Diesel Pumps(new computer is a plus and I believe you can up the hp/tq for more money) but Industrial Injection seems to be popular place to get them.

Central motive power in Denver CO. $1450 +/-

I thought Blue Chip was in the $1100 range? Is that the hybrid pump you are quoting?

Vp44 source

Thank you for your responses

Although Chip at Blue Chip Diesel was a wonderful source to speak with, I ordered a re-man VP44 with new computer from Industrial Diesel in SLC.

Dustin & Ryan were very pleasant to deal with. $1550. 00 including the gear puller and the core charge of $400. 00. Dustin told me that they rebulid approx 400 VP44's per month. If that does not tell you that the VP44 is a P. O. S nothing will. I plan to do it myself using the intructions available on many websites. (Blue chip, MWFI etc. ) and I plan to watch the You Tube video by Diesel Dan. I did see the post offering me a used "hot rod" VP44 but my truck is stock and has worked just fine that way since I bought it 10 years ago. Thanks anyway.
