Need to get rid of 5" drone !

I am tired of the drone from my truck, ( 5" exhaust ) Thinking of puting my 4" muffler & tail pipe in place of the 5" muffler & tail pipe ! So it would be 5" to muffler then 4" on back. If anyone has any other things ,that they have tried that works ?

Perform a search using "Donaldson" and "Nelson" and you'll come up with lots of reading regarding 5" mufflers available.

What brand is your exhaust, Do you tow with yours?

Its a flo-pro if I remmber right, I dont tow alot, but it sure helped my fuel mileage with the 5", girlfriend dont like the sound, too loud she says! I agree, but just have not had any reason to change it yet!!

My twins got rid of my drone too. Most folks that tow and have a 5 inch system complain of drone. Do you have a 4 inch down pipe? I tried a coupler piece from my 5 inch down pipe to my 4 inch dools back when I had them. It didn't drone, but the peice just didn't fit right. I had to "butt" the 2 pips together and use a band clamp to hold it. It squeaked and rattled a lot, drove me crazy so I just got a 5 inch system.



That exhaust couple might work for you. Hopefully it will work better for you than for me.

Wuz thinkin' that I'd get a 5" to help out with the mileage.

Doesn't someone make a "noise cancellation 5" system - with no drone ?
