Can someone tell me if the front axel shafts should spin when in 2wd. The front driveline isn't spinning, only the axel shafts. I thought the auto hubs would disengage these.
Thats what mine does, not a problem. While were on the subject, Has anybody heard if DC is going to do an elctronic transfer case or "Instatrac" as GM calls it?
What do you all think about those electronic transfer cases? I have always liked the security of being able to feel the xfer case shifting (as well as the sensory experiences--grinding, jolting, crunching... . ). Pushing a button seems a bit panzy to me... .
I agree with John on this one. I like to be able to feel it going into 4wd. Also, there are just more things to go wrong with all this electronic stuff. I would think it would be easier to diagnose a problem not invoving electronics. (in most cases). Just my . 02.
We had Instatrac in one of our trucks, i just hate the idea of anything electronic. Too easy to have problems, at least with a maual shift you know whats going on, if you had to, you could use brute force to get it in 4wd, what do you do with an electronic system, push the button really hard?
