Just replaced my 190,000 mile engine with a 60,000 from a wreck because my EGT's went off scale pulling 22,000 lbs. up a 5% grade, didn't know it till it was too late. Truck was pulling strong, but was destroying itself (with my foot in it) at the same time. Wound up limping home, and being told that I needed another engine. Need to know how to lower EGT"S - - - maybe a larger turbo ??

Even with the Edge Comp box set on one - - - if I stick my foot in it (truck only) the EGT's go into the red, with the Edge set on 5 the EGT's go nuts and there's so much smoke that you can't see what's behind you. I don't do this all of the time, but with all of these horses a fella likes to turn them loose from time to time.

Anyone got any suggestions ????

High flow air intake filter, 4" exhaust, hybrid turbo, and maybe water injection.

Beyond that, we need to know more about your truck. What year, engine option, transmission...

Rich, do you have gauges? Id like to know what your boost is under WOT,are you running an otherwise stock truck,or do you have injectors? did you install the boost fitting that comes with the Edge comp box? If you have a stock truck with a Comp set on level 1 with the boost fitting,if your air filter is reasonably clean, you shouldnt have an EGT isssues at all.
