Who's paying over $3.50 for Diesel?

I'm putting my truck on a barge, it needs to be 7' or less. I need to lower it 1" for 3 weeks... easiest way would be letting air out of my tires, how would they stand up to 30psi or less for 3 weeks? Are there any other easily reversed ways to accomplish this?

Pick up a cheap set of rims and put the smallest size tires you can fit on them... Dropping your pressure low enough to drop an inch will most likely cause problems if it's sitting for 3 weeks. I'm no expert, but that's what I would think

If you get it to barely fit, movement of the barge may bounce it into the roof.

Get some spring compressors or heavy duty straps. Wrap them around frame and differential and tighten down. Might get a couple or three inches out of it. Or pull it down and use chains and a bolt to hold it down.

I wouldn't strap the suspesion to the frame. I know someone that did that, and had the vehicle in an enclsed trailer, so it would clear. Since the suspension wasan't able to do its thing, they wound up with a cracked radiator.

I don't see the problem deflating the tires. What am I missing? Flat spots? Probably not in only 3 weeks.

I'd either take air out or get some rollers on cheap wheels.

Cracking the radiator?? I tow my Jeep with the suspension tied down to the trailer so it doesn't bounce all over the place. Hasn't hurt anything.

I have bottomed out the front end of my truck hundreds of times and have yet to have any problems(MUCH harder on the truck than having the suspension non-functional while in transport). Well, except for the shocks and ball joints

Like the others have said, strap it down :)

Did the strap rub the radiator, or did he tie down one of the radiator hoses by mistake with the Frame?

I've strapped more than one truck on many occasions. I've strapped my Pre Runner down when I competed on a short course while racing. She turns alot better with limited travel. Desert truck suspension doesn't work to well in an arena.

Compressing the suspension with straps is common. Thats how I used to get the clearance I needed back when I loaded vehicles onto aircraft. I'm sure you already know this but your standard 1" wide rachet straps aren't what you want. Get the heavy duty straps that are about 3" wide. A good commercial truck shop will have them.
