What do you guys think it would cost to have my front end ball joints and stuff replaced at a shop? I have almost no tools and no garage up here, so I cant do it myself.

Not to scare you, but when I had a shop replace my ball joints and one front u-joint this past summer, it cost me $1100. 00 (US). I thought they did a fantastic job as they took the time to explain to me what they were doing and why. But I also knew what questions to ask- thanks to the TDR. I made sure that I got greasable joints and that when the hubs went back in, there was a coat of neverseize on them.

Now that I have a garage and a few of the big tools to do the job, I wouldn't hesitate to do it myself- especially now that I now that the hubs should come out relatively easy. But I think you're smart to realize that this is a big job and usually best left to the pros.

Good luck

Depends on the kind of ball joints you buy. I have no idea what you mean by "and stuff" so it's pretty hard to put a price on it but I'm sure if you have someone else do it, it will be high:confused: If you buy Carli ball joints you can expect to pay about $500-$550 for the uppers and the same for the lowers.

Up here is New London, CT. I have replace ball joints in the past, but dont have the time or space, and all my tools are in GA.

I am not sure what all i have to replace. I have a little slop in the steering, and when i took my truck to get an alignment they said that one of the joints was worn, and that they couldnt do the alignment because of it.

I just dont want to be spending that much on the truck now, as I wont be driving it much in the next few months.
