I have 160,000 miles on engine. Water pump is leaking. I've replaced nothing on the engine except the antifreeze. What other parts would you recommend I replace since the pump will be coming out? Tensioner pulley, hoses, belt, etc.

Thanks in advance for the advice,

Rob

I have an 04. I have 206,000 on it at this time. About 10,000 miles ago, the water pump was dripping, replaced it and within a month I heard a slight squeak. Replaced the tensioner and all is fine. Not really hard to do. Good luck and enjoy your ride.

I have an 03 with close to 250k I have replaced a couple of water pumps on time I did the belt with it cause it was getting wore. My 04 has 180k and I have replaced the water pump on it three times. Idler and tensioners always have looked good and sounded good. I did have the tensioner pulley go out on the 04 but it wasn't any where near the times I did the water pump. As for the hoses I am not a big fan of replacing them on modern third generation trucks. The materials that the hoses are made out of are far superior to what they were twenty years ago. Go ask some mechanics when the last time they saw a hose fail.

I wouldn't replace the hoses, rubber quality seems to have degraded within the last ten years.
Best rubber was in the eighties.

That's my opinion to this.
