I have lost 5th gear and need to find a shop in the Sikeston,*mo area to get it fixed

Another solution that has been used by many is to have a local mechanic remove the transmision and ship it to Standard Transmission in Ft. Worth, TX for rebuild. They'll do a quality job for a fair price and ship it back promptly.

Standard in Ft. Worth and Blumenthals in OKC, both TDR advertisers, are the biggest and perhaps the best manual transmission rebuilders in the country.

I've never owned a Ram w/five speed manual but I think you can just drive slower and limp it home in fourth gear which is direct. Should be able to run 50-55mph with no problem. Much easier to avoid being taken advantage of if you're back home to have the repair done.

Try using Travel Companion on this site. A member in that area mite know of a trans shop.

Fourth gear will get you home but use more fuel.

You are close to home 123 miles. Check with the local and see who they would use are limp home in 4 gear==Good luck
