Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Need transmission advice

Can an externel transmission filter be put into the line with out effecting anything ??? . What I want to install is a second trany cooler with an external filter , this transmission cooler will also have 3... 4x4 inch fans that can be turned on in the cab . I have pulled some steep grades in 1st and 2nd gear pulling a load and watched the temp exeed 220 degree,s , I cant see this system hurting . This will be mounted on the drivers side under the hood by the brake fluid reservoir ... ... . any comments please

I think the cooler would work fine as long as you put it in parallel with the stock cooler. If you mount it in series it might have too much restriction.

Bill K recommends what Ron said, parallel only. Might be better if you can find a place out from under the hood like under the bed.
