Need 6 sp transmission troubleshooters...

6 speed

24k miles

... lost clutch going from 5th to 6th. Pin is in the clutch slave hose at the bell housing. Had 4th and 5th by syncro. No 1,2,3, or 6th.

After shut off... all shift patterns are free. ON restart clutch will allow 3rd 4th 5th 6th and reverse.

2 questions... . what is it? Does the warranty cover the clutch if it breaks?

This clutch has NEVER SLIPPED in the least.

Thanks

check a few things

First of all the dealer should take care of it if it is broken and not burnt. With the park brake on, have someone push the clutch pedal while you watch the release arm at the bell housing. Is it moving? Does the pin in the slave extend? It is possible it is not the clutch itself but the release arm. Is there an inspection plug or cover on the bell? Maybe you could see if the pressure plate moves away from the flywheel when the clutch is pressed. Just a couple of things to check. HTH

OK here's where I stand...

Changing the slave cylinder even though it is not leaking or visibly broken.

Said the clutch needs to be replaced..... we'll see about that..... it has NEVER slipped. and with me it is either engaged or disengaged... no sliping or riding the clutch.

UPDATE

Clutch failure not due to owner abuse. Literally fell apart.

Thanks to Teri and the guys at Raymond Dodge for getting DC to pick up the repairs on this.
