I have an early (non intercooled) 91 that has puked its vacuum pump internals (or at least the ball bearing balls) into the timing gear case, and has taken a few bites out of a gear or two. I went to the parts store, and the part they showed for a vacuum pump was the little pod that goes on the side and/or bottom of the assembly. It is the part that goes between the pods and the P/S pump/ reservoir ass'y that I need. It has a cam lobe type eccentric that connects to plungers that plunge into the vacuum pods to create the vacuum. My problem is, where do I find one? No junkyards around here have any diesels, and the dealer is only open M-F 8-5. Cant go in there those hours- have to work. I would like to get it back running ASAP. Thanks in advance for any ideas. Will also post in first gen forum.

That is for a 91-93 w/intercooler. I may go that route, too; just replace everything. Mine is technically a 90, I guess. IT is not listed in any parts catalogs- when you look up P/S pump, it gives only the pump and reservoir; look up vacuum pump, and you get only the little pod that goes on hte side or bottom. I need the part in between. I've spent the last 3 days scouring the net, calling places. If I get a chance tomorrow, I'll post a pic.

Thanks,

Daniel

Hadnt thought of them. I asked about a P/S pump assembly, and they said Dodge item. But it also depends on who you talk to, how willing they are to help. I'll have Mom try that in the next day or two. I'm working 12-14 hr days, and dont have the time to look up that stuff.

Thanks.
