Well if you look at it from a salvage value. You can get atleast $1500 for the motor, $800 for the front axle, and probably atleast another $1000-$2000 parting it out. Not sure I would buy a truck to drive again if it will need frame work done, unless you know a good body shop that will do it right. I still probbaly wouldn't give more than $2500 for it myself.

Well, the guys wants $3500 cash for it, I am a little on the fence, I guess I could swap the engine into my truck, Best of both worlds!!!

to tell you the truth that sounds good. think about what that engine is worth. part the rest. t-case and axles, i would think, can get you 1500 bucks. are you buying this or taking a trade. if its your cash i would say that is a fair price but for a dealer to take it as a trade seems like a hassel.

You need to figure what you would have in it ready to drive again. if the inner cooler and rad are hit that is a grand rite there then you have a fender, grill, bumper and anything else that is damaged. A frame repair will cost you about 40 per hr min of 5 hrs probably as many as 20

What can you buy the truck for elsewhere. What is your time worth these are the things I look at when I buy a wreck.

I just past on a 98 2wd for 4000 with no damage to the frame or inner cooler but the truck was beat. :(

About 2 yrs ago a friend of mine T-boned an F150 that ran a stop sign. Totaled both trucks (The 150 was worse though). He bought it back from the insurance co for just under $3000 and sold it for $3500 in a matter of a couple of days. FWIW - It was a 94 auto SLT.

I Know From Experience, I Just Bought I 97 12 Valve Motor

For 2700 And Bought The Core Back After I Put The Motor

In For Spare Parts. and It Was 400 I Say Its A Good Deal.

If You Do Not Want It Let Me Know Were It Is I'll Get.
