Ok, here's the deal. time has come once again to buy tires. I was talking to a guy at Discount Tire, and now BFG All Terrains & Michelins are going for the same price. Pretty cool. A little cheaper, there is a new Goodyear Wrangler, with a 50,000 mile warranty... I am tempted to go with the goodyear, but want to get some of y'all's opinions on the matter first and foremost. Chime in and let me know what you guys think!

SIDENOTE: The truck has always had BFG All terrains. . I like the extra sidewalls in the BFG tires... . Thats it. . help me out!

I have had BFG A/T tires on just about all the trucks I have owned. I had one set of Goodyears and will never have another. They wore terrible, and no matter how I did the rotations nothing ever changed. I would go with either the BFG or Michelines. Just my opinion :)

I'm thinking of getting BFG KO 235/85/ R16's for my dually. The tread pattern looks like a good mix between highway and mud tire. Afraid to go with a larger tire with my stock wheels cause of dually spacing. My other choice would be Michelins but they are more pricey. The BFG KO's are $129 at BIG O tires.

This is where I regret having a dually... I need 6 tires. :{

I'm really happy with my Michelin XPS Tractions. They weren't cheap here but they're tough, I guess it depends how much hwy vs off-road driving you do? I needed a tire that can withstand lots of driving on 'shot-rock' logging roads.

What size tire are you looking for? What type of tire?

I really like the Toyo M-55's but that's just me. If you are spending all your time on the road, the OE Michelins are hard to beat. I got over 60K out of mine and they had enough tread to go onto another truck.

I wonder if you are talking about the new Silent Armor

That tire really interests me as it gets even better ratings than the AT/S which I have always liked. The trouble with the Silent Armor is no HD 17” or bigger sizes.

I spoke with a Goodyear rep and they hope to have more in the 4th quarter.

If you want to read a review of the Silent Armor click here

I would run an AT/S befor a BFG.

I don’t like BFG’s, just seen too many that were not round. A friend of mine has 285’s on his 3500 and hates them, he will be lucky to get 30K on them.

funny how different the responses are! about like an oil thread... :-{}

i have Goodyear MT/R 285/75-16 on a work truck F350 SuperDuty. good traction, maybe 30k miles per set, and they get chunked EASY off-road.

i run BFG Mud Terrains on my Dodge. I'll get over 40k miles, but I'm anal about rotating and air pressure. i also run Counteract balance beads and love them. Pops has BFG All Terrains on his 3/4 ton Suburban and gets 60k on 33/12. 50-16. 5.

I used to run BFG's on every truck I owned and they lasted 60-70,000 miles until I got the CTD. My first set lasted about 30,000. So i decided to try something new. The Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo. I am extrememly happy with this tire. It is wearing good and the are quiet. Give them a try.

If you do a tire to tire comparison on tirerack.com( I think) the Revo's come out a little better than the BFG's.
