want to add nitrous to truck ,an i am lookin at the zex diesel kit part num. 82028 says it will add 35 to 200hp. anyone runnin this kit an r u happy with it? can i run this will what i have now?see mods below. found a deal for 419. 00 for complete kit. they claim it will only take 2 hours to setup. tell me what u think

look in TS Performance. . thay make the mp-8. Their nitrous kit is a exelent kit and fool proof(not that your one... LOL). I would look into this kit first since I have seen a few installs of thier kits and I like what I see not to metion set-up. I have used zex kits but in ricers.

See if you can find out more about the kit... . Most of the inexpensive kits run small components that just don't make the HP levels they claim. Normally we use -6 lines from the bottle to the solenoids and then -4 lines to the nozzels. The solenoids are both . 125 in size and we use nozzels that will flow at least . 125 for each solenoid. Too small of a part and the system will not make the advertised HP. Also remember HP loevels gained are also dependant upon excessive fuel within the cylinder.

If I can answer any questions on nitrous please feel free to PM or call.

Im running the zex kit and like it. I would listen to doug, ive talked to him about it and his before and he is right about the lines. The zex i think (dont have the truck with me) has something like -4 lines from the bottle and smaller from the solenoid to the nozzel. With whats in my sig. im only running the 150hp nozzle. I managed to get a little over 200hp when it was injected and ONLY made about 25hp extra at the top end.

When i run without the nitrous the turbo does a pretty good job of cleaning up the injectors thats why i probably netted only 25 extra ponies but when it kicks on right at first i breaks the tires loose again.

If you get that kit youll have to buy a hobbs switch. I didnt hook up the tps because i couldnt find where to hook up one of the wires and from talking to doug and a couple other the hobbs is a better way to go that way you dont have to worry about putting it to the floor before the turbo lights. It doesnt sound pretty when it injects and your not ready for it. It white smokes and poops bad.

Ive got mine set to trigger at about 13-15 psi. It was advised to have it set at 25 which is probably best but i like the feel when it hits.

I would also get a guage for the bottle, just to see how much you have left.

I've got a basic NX kit that uses (1) . 063 solenoid and no nozzle. It has the smaller line(-4) and will support that solenoid just fine but will not support a big solenoid nor two smaller ones, but the kit was free. They advertised it at 50-75 hp gain and I gained 180hp on it... ... over fueling (370's) as mentioned.

I personally like the kit JetPilot is talking about as it uses (2) . 125's and a controller along with all of the hardware.

The zex kit came with the . 125 solenoid. If hes just wanting to play around a little i bet he could piece one together or doug could help him out. Dougs great to talk with, very knowledgable.

How much power are you looking to make?

With Mach 4s your not going to spray much you will need more injector to make the power.

I ran a -4an line with a . 073 jet with Mach 4s and a B1 turbo was worth 85hp on a dyno-jet. 7. 88 in the 1/8mile

Ok i got one for ya. My 220's only netted me about 25 extra. Their 8 hole edms from DDP.

How much more can i go to max out my pump. Can i go with a different inj. something like 5 or 7 holes that would put more fuel in and not atomize it so much or could i theoretically custome make something like 300hp inj. to get the extra fuel. Whats the pump limited to?

Ive got the nitrous now i need to fully use it, i guess thats what im trying to say.

i called zex an they said the line is -6 from the bottle to the soleniod. they weret sure about the soleinoid size. they told me this kit is adjustable to make 35- 200 hp. i guess depending on what nozzle i want to use? does this sound right?

can u tell me about this hobbs switch/ what is it an where do i get one? anyone have a link to who sells them? what does it do ? my injectors are mach 4. 5 175hp i think? thanks

I had to contact them and order one but a good vendor might have one in stock. It works off pressure when you drill the air horn and put it in it is a N. O. (normaly open) switch. That way when you build up boost at what ever psi you get it set for the psi will close it and complete a circut and acitvate your nitrous. When it drops below the set psi it will open and deactivate it.

Just remember that when you shut off your bottle you still have some in your lines and would be a good idea to flip your toggle switch and activate it again to get ride of whats in your lines.

buy another hobbs switch & solenoid, then build a 2- stage kit, set one switch at 10psi and put a smaller jet in the line for it, then set the other switch to kick in a 25psi or so on a full open line, no jet ;)

the NO kit i put in my 01 was a $400 sniper package from mopac built for a carb. gasser... .

very basic, NO solenoid into the intake horn and micro switch that operated on full throttle, talk about seat of the pants feel :-laf

i put my hobbs in the air horn. You will need a tap for the hobbs also, sorry i used my dads tools. Youll leave out the TPS switch on the zex kit. Dad hooked one wire of the solenoid to a ground, the other to the hobbs, the other post of the hobbs to the arming switch and the other post on the arming switch to the positive of the battery.

With my set up i only use my 150hp nozzle (. 088)? they should come with a chart also. Mines set to come on at about 13-15 psi. The bigger one adds too much (im guessing) because it makes a popping sound like when i miss ajusted it before.

Theres no need to go with a second stage (for just beginning or playing around) because i can easily break traction in 3rd when it hits :D Not to say that would be nice but i would need to get a smaller turbo so i would have more unburnt fuel.

just really wanted it to play around on the road. maybe a pass or two down the track but no more. i have to get a new trans every time i go to the track :-{}what do you mean about needing a tap for the switch , what has to be done to it?i thought the switch would be ready to go. . anyone in my area that would be willing to help me install it?

Youll need the tap for the air horn so the hobbs can screw in.

What size is his first stage? You could see the smoke go bye-bye and hear it ramp up then again with the second stage Oo.
