Well totaled the truck on thursday in north ft worth. I want another truck but im unsure what to do at this point. I know for sure I want ext or qc swb 4x4. And I know I want a standard. What I cant fiure out is the year and I dont know weather to go 12v or 24v. Which is going to be more bombable? Would I be better off getting a 12v since I dont have the whole vp44 problem? I had just decided that morning not to sell the truck and get the 3 gen. Which may still be the case but I want to look at all my options. I want the overall design and amminities to be the same as the 02 RIP I just had or as close as possible. IE interior layout. I wont be towing much for a while this is just going to be a fun toy kinda thing. I would like to get a nice 5th wheel trailer some day or a good size boat.

Tell me what yall think,

James

Thanx for the reply Grizzly... . I guess no one out here in the 12v world likes their rigs.

I sure did like my 95, which was a 2nd gen. The 3rd gen just have so much more features, like the four door quad cab and quieter more powerful engines.

If you like the interior layout of your previous truck than get something of that model or newer (they are nice). i started with my 95' so im use to it. i wouldn't let the v-pump discourage you from getting another.

When you say you want a standard do you mean a manual trans? That alone will decide on what you buy. You stated you want a SB and either a QC or a X-cab. Well early 98 was the only time (about 1/2 model year run) you could get a 12V QC SB and the 5-spds are hard to come by (not to mention they command high$). You couldn't even get a SB CTD before that in any form. So if your really set on a QC SB then you probably want to look at the 24V.

Thanx for the info. If i could land the deal I was looking for the ext cab swb with the 5 or 6 speed. I would most likely take anything ext 4x4 and manual, 2500 or 3500. If I do go to the 12v what should I look out for?
